Will not be able to attend the Chili Bowl in person and I am considering signing up for the Racin Boys online coverage of this event. Any opinions out there? Good deal or not? Technical difficulties or not? If you used it last year, would you sign up again?

I ordered it last year and thought it was fantastic. It will obviously cut out before the MavTV broadcast goes live (at least I believe it will).

Depends a lot on the time zone you live in. Other than maybe missing portions of the racing, the racing is great.

I have ordered it both years as well as some of the prior years when they did an audio only broadcast.  The Racin Boys do a fabulous job & the coverage has been great.  Very few lags or other tech issues.  I saw some pics from the Shootout last week that they have added more graphics to their broadcast & heard good things about it.

I just finished watching 3 days of the Tulsa Shootout on Racin Boys. The techanical end of the broadcast was good, but the announcing will have you wanting to throw something at the TV, the announcers talk about anything and everything between races except racing of course. They had a live twitter feed in the booth during the races and someone even tweeted "Boy you guys will talk about anything" to which they read aloud and thought it was in praise to their skills. They get off into their personal stories and don't get back to the monitor in time to read the line ups posted on the screen.

So on the first night I was thinking this pretty cool think I'll have to do the Chil Bowl when it starts, but at the end of 3 nights of their announcers, I wouldn't pay a dollar to ever listen to them again.

OK, I get it: watch the video and turn the sound OFF.

How much does it cost and do they have an audio only for people who can't afford the TV.

Coverage last night was really good. We didnt seem to have any issues with it what so ever. Worth it in my opinion. Camera shots were good and they did a good job focusing on the best battles on the track and on some of the bigger names of the night.

As for the annoucing not that bad as people on here say. You'll want the volume on. They talk about racing the majority of the time and all the time during the race. Good stats on each of the racers. When they have a long break to rework the track they do read some twitter and talk about some stuff not racing related but hey those guys need some filler. Last night took a little longer than expected as one of them said.

The only thing I wanted was some audio of the interview of the drivers before the Race of Champions. But it wasnt a big deal. I recommend anyone to get it if they arent going to be able to attend.

too bad we have to listen to those guys ramble on and then bumble and stumble through every heat race as they also did at the shootout.  the occasional call of a race by track announcer is much better!

Can't please them all. There are around 400 drivers, many of whom are relatively unknown nationally. It would be tough not to stumble a time or two looking through notes on each driver.

Something to add though is if your working tomorrow and you order this race you don't expect too much sleep. It got over right at midnight CST last night so if your West of OK it could be a late night.
