Hey would anyone like to see a non-wing circuit in Pa-Nj -DE or NY  ? I think its time as many people travel out of state to see  non-wing racing , yes I know its great in Indiana especially at Kokomo , IN . and no I wouldn't want it to hurt winged racing , it would be good to see variety .

Absolutely not. We don't another series and/or division around here. Fields are divided and diluted enough as it is with the already too many sprint car divisions we have. 410/358/360/358/super sportsman plus 19 divisions of micros all competing on a regular basis in Pa. It's already WAY too much so it would be completely idiotic to start yet another sprint car division. Maybe such a thing could fly in New York, Delaware and New Jersey but even they already have URC and ESS. Definitely not in Pa though. We have too many divisions as it is and the last thing we need is one more. For those who really need to see wingless stuff that bad, there's super sportsman at Path Valley and ARDC midgets so its not like we don't have anything.

I give it a few years and it will happen, Already some micro tracks doing it and seems to be gaining traction in the small cars. So as these guys move up in ranks I think Wingless racing will to. fiXXXer is right we do have to many divisions in Pa. (Winged Divisions) that is. Time for change in Pa. No better way to cut cost than taking off the wings ( take away the downforce.)

I think your right sir , I think it could happen as well for a lot of the reasons you state . Yes, we need to find  a way to cut costs and not in starting another division alone . The WoO  controls the rules so they should find ways to cut costs .

Never gonna happen. Winged 410's are and always will be the main deal in Central Pa. If we go to non winged cars every week, my attendance will drastically be reduced because non winged cars on big tracks are boring with the exception of Eldora. They are awesome on tracks that are 3/8 mile and smaller but when it comes to Port Royal, once a year is enough for me.

Bull. Nonwing cars are great at Terre Haute, Calistoga, and other big tracks. Far better racing than the winged parades. You need to get out of your little three-county world and experience Indiana Sprint Week (as an example).

I haven't been to those tracks, but we did see one heck of a night of racing USAC sprints at Knoxville. Was a number of years ago, but great racing. Made even greater when Haudenschild pulled in, took the wings off and kicked their butts! A group of USAC fans were sitting near us and they were hooting and hollering about how Jac was going to get his ass kicked and that the USAC guys were "going to teach Haudenschild how to drive a sprint car!"     When the  A Feature was over and Jac won by a straight away, I turned to those USAC folks and hollered "That Haudenschild is sure a fast learner, isn't he?!"  They really didn't have much of a response to that, but we sure laughed about it. I see Jac about once a year, and he and I still get a laugh about that night. He says it was one of the highlights in his career that he remembers well.

How about you pay my bills for me or donate a large sum of money and I will do some traveling? If I could afford it, I would get out more but I have a budget and I can't afford to travel all over the place and watch races especially whenever I have so many to choose from right here at home. The topic isn't about Terre Haute or Calistoga. It's about Pa, NJ, DE, NY. I've seen them at Williams Grove and Port Royal multiple times and I enjoy it once a year but I wouldn't wanna see it on our big half miles on a weekly basis. Now if USAC is at Path Valley or Grandview, that gets me excited. I love traditional sprint cars on a bullring. All of this is just my opinion so there's no right or wrong just personal preference. By the way, aren't you the same guy who was posting in the NSL schedule thread bitching about every thread on here turning into a Central Pa thread? Well now you jumped into a thread about Central Pa and hijacked it. Hypocrite much?

The Wild Child. Nuff said. That guy can and will wheel the absolute shit out of a sprint car no matter what size engine is under the hood, no matter what the track is like, with or without the wing. Even today, he's still fearless. Most drivers tend to calm down with age but not Jac. He still stands on it just as hard today as he did when he was 20 years old. I wish I could've been there to see that.

I just enjoy your thousand-word essays on every post here. There are these things called jobs, where you earn money. That's how we pay for a tank of gas and a ticket. That's how it's done in the other 49 states anyway.

I have only ever attended one non wing show and enjoyed myself.  Watching those dudes pitch it at about the start finish line and back it in the turns was pretty cool to watch.  But as a whole.... I don't think the masses round these parts would support it as a weekly show. I remember a couple years back Buckwalter had a non wing ride at Selinsgrove that they left him hot lap during an intermission and most of the people around me were like, "what is that slow bucket of sh!t??"    Non wing cars are best fit for bullrings in my opinion.   Most people around here are used to the ridiculous speed and that's what they want to see.

New Egypt Speedway in New Jersey has added wingless sprints to their schedule. Started it last year with 2-4 I think, now up to around 18. They are GM 602 motors in them.

Wings should have gone the moment all the weight and engine rules started 15 years ago.  They have no purpose if everyone is just going to zip the identicle average engine in all the cars.  If we're all going to get a chub over the driver and not care if the equipment is Chinese, the crutch needs to go.  The only problem is track prep has to be above Freddie's lousy standards.  No cushion, no wing and no true hammers under the hood isn't the answer either.  A cheap wingless car, a good driver and some moisture can still get the juices flowing.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

That was a Silver Crown car which is bigger and slower yet. The Grove is having a Silver Crown race this season and I can't wait to go see the 100 lapper.

those slow buckets of shit should put on a great show at the grove. the class is growing every day and pa. drivers are looking for rides for this show. and one pa. owner just added a crown car to his fleet with possibly a couple others to follow. hats off to the grove and usac for making this show happen.

Wingless at Path Valley would be great! Did  you see Midget show last year?

I would be willing to check them out at a half mile  like WG too. Ultimate Challenge in Oskaloosa, Iowa had some good racing.....

You don't sound so familiar with "jobs" yourself.... guess what: Most don't give you unlimited time off....

I'd love to see a wingless class in PA,but on the smaller tracks. Say Gradview, Path Valley, Trailways, Lincoln, and Susky.
