Maybe cubicdollars can post the money breakdown for those poor outlaws smacking around at the back of the pack last night?
granted...we had half the cars of the Kville Nationals...but I don't recall many outlaws in the D and C from this year Out there in parts unknown...maybe all of them are all down on motors this week?

Solid showing to finish midpack in the B. Saldana, Sides, Madsen and Johnson could not even get out of the C. In Madsen's defesen, I am sure he put a whipping on that D-main field.

in an interview with the press, Madsen has reffered to the Grove as "the only road course" on the tour...last night's A main made good on the comment as he was nothing more than a moving chicane for the leaders...unable to realize that he was getting lapped and raced for position.

Qualify poorly and start about where you finish in your Heat and you are done. The most ho-hum National Open of all-time, which is a nice way of saying boring and that has nothing to do with where everybody finished because it looked like hot lap session after hot lap session, most of the night. Sorry if you paid and went, not many did. I paid for the PPV and got an education in Buffering, c'est la vie....

It was great to see Smith back in victory lane at the grove seeing it only took him another 20 years or so to get there!
considering :
he started up front
races there every week/shiw!!!!!
his car ownre/ crew chief has 100 wins there knows how to set the car up there
seems to me if he didn't Win it he would of looked like an idiot!! With those kind of stats
look at that start up line up you would of thought the podium would of been posse podium 123
nothink against Stevie he's a fantastic driver!!! at the Grove and deserves a win there after 20 years Hats and BELTS off to him he def deserves last nights W
if you were to put Stevie in the 7 car where do you think he would of finished?????

No wonder no one goes to the local shows anymore. The highest finishing weekly runner was 5th.
The go-kart track for time trials was worth the price of admission alone.

I love it.......The Posse vs the WoO at Wiliiams grove is something like 128 WoO, 66 Posse.....and you are idiot enough to brag over one win....Too bad Donny couldn't have started side by side with Stevie. But don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Stevie a lot when he ran with the Outlaws and he is still a great driver, so I was happy to see him win. I'm a fan of all drivers, and root for many regardless of where they are from. I'm not so locked in on one particular group that I'm blinded and ignorant of reality.

Donny did get a double file restart after an open red with just 7 to go...he went high thru 1-2 and got smoked by the 51s.
arm chair your expertise all you want fellas...we were there...there was close racing all thru the pack...including the 4 back marker outlaw cars that were smacks arums in front of the leaders.

I saw the entire race on PPV....I'm not arm chair racing. Just saying that take the win graciously, but for heavens sake it shouldn't lead to bragging like it's a regular lop sided occurance. Two WoO drivers in the history of the Open each have 5 wins. The WoO have more than doubled the Posse in wins at the Grove when they go head to head. To put it in perspective, it would be like a Minnesota Twins fan bragging to a Yankees fan that the Twins have won two World Series. And don't overlook my comment that I am happy for Stevie. He's been overlooked by car owners for too long. Fred Rahmer knows what it takes to be a winning driver. Hats off to Fred for putting Stevie in that car!

Close racing in the mostly single file follow the leader affair, more like a F! race than a sprintcar race? Luckily, there was a sprintcar race held over the weekend that saw Tim Kaeding come from 14th to win in a feature that had 8 former Outlaw winners in it, actual racing, gotta love the mid-West.....

So you will be posting stats for Kville that show their locals have a better record at their National event?
should we get out the popcorn?

I could be completely talking out of my ass here, and someone will surely correct me, but didn't the Outlaws dominate when central PA ran a different rules package from the Outlaws? Now that PA guys and the Outlaws have been running the same rules for a few years, the amount of PA wins have increased dramatically. Is this correct?

I already stated I'm a realist....of course the WoO drivers have dominated the Knoxville Nationals also. The Nationals have, however, been won many times by drivers who were Knoxville regulars at one time. Posse drivers of course have won their biggest event also. Unlike Posse regulars, the top Knoxville drivers still tend to travel more and several current regulars have run pretty regularly with the WoO. Knoxville regulars have not only won WoO events at Knoxville, but also many tracks accross the country. More Posse drivers travelled in the past than they currently do. The bottom line is this....the WoO have dominated the statistics everywhere they have run. That alone does not diminish the quality of racing in PA, the Midwest or anywhere else. It's just stating a fact that night in and night out, the WoO drivers and teams are the best. Hope you enjoyed your popcorn....

Glad to see this thread...I was thinking just last night that there hasn't been much Posse vs WoO banter on here lately. I enjoy the back and forth so long as it's civil and not disrespectful.
As far as track conditions and fan attendance...weather had much to do with it obviously...4 straight days of rain. So that comment is truely unfair.
8 former Outlaw winners at the NSL race.. impressive. And the winners of those 8 races from all over the globe (7 different states and 2 continents, US and Australia). Wait..there were 8 drivers at the National Open who also have Outlaw wins. And all eight are current or very recent Williams Grove regulars living within 40 miles of the track ( S.Smith, Deitrich, Hodnett, Esh, DeWease, Wolfe, R. Smith, and Cody Darrah). Ok, so Stevie shares time between Hanover and Oklahoma, but you get the picture. True LOCALS vs Outlaws.
