Kind of a different question but a change of pace couldn't hurt. I'm in the market for some new pit shoes and never really put much thought into it until now . i had a pair of Simpson crew shoes and i really liked them but didn't seem to last all that long. What do you guys like to wear when working in the pits? Are you using "crew shoes" or just a regular tennis shoe? Particular brands? What seems to hold up best to the conditions encountered when working on race cars? Or am I the only one that pays this much attention to pit shoes? Lol

For 25 years I have worn my everday household/street shoes. When I buy a new pair the old ones are used to mow the yard and wear at the races. Yes I think you are trying to pay to much attention to shoes.

You may be correct, but no harm in conversation.

My guys are using the Oakley Teeth low shoes. Oakley used to sell them at the NHRA events a few years ago but they were a little pricey at $140 a pair, But I know Precise Racing has a bunch in stock and they are selling for $90 each if they have your size. http://www.preciseracing.com/product.cfm?InvKey=79423

I wear New Balance shoes where ever I go. I wore Nikes for 20+ years...Then 1 day I bought a pair of New Blances....10 years later and haven't bought another brand since...Except for boots obviously!

Oakley pit crew shoes where awesome, but they are out of the shoe business. Jegs still has a "version" of the Oakley but the last pair I got where terrible quality. I get the New balance crew shoe from Roush Yates and have been happy with them.
