3 of the top 5 in the feature at the lake this past weekend were Sprint Invaders. 2nd Garst, 3rd Hull and 5th went to Sutton. Others that made the trip were Ryan Jamison, Korey Weyant, Jimmy Davies, Matt Harms and Lance Gullo. Where were the others??? Some elected to run a non-sanctioned race at 34 raceway. If I were on the board I would deduct points from the cars that did not support their own club. "OH WAIT" the head of the Sprint Invader boards car was running at 34 raceway!! Along with a past champion, and 2 of the cars from the past president. What kind of message are they giving to any other promoters to have a Sprint Invader race if you cant give full support to your club???? All because another race was being run closer to home. I am a Sprint Invader fan just like many more that went to the lake to support the Invaders. Just my Opinion, What’s your’s

Would of loved to have ran both shows down there....LOS is a very nice track and almost always full of exciting action when some of the best 360 drivers in the mid-west are put on the track... We had motor problems at Donnellson and weren't able to get it fixed yet, thats why we were'nt able to make it down there...

My opinion is you're a douche.
You're either a Bart hater or just stupid. It was probably a very tough decision for some of the local Burlington guys as to whether to drive 2 or 3 hours to race or 5 minutes across town.
Try using your brain!

I think you would do well to contact Sprint Invaders and try and get on the board. I beleive they could use someone so dedicated that they bash other racers and past board members. JUST MY OPINION.

Well, my opinion, is that the ones that are running for points needed to race at the Ozarks. This "past champion" isn't racing for points which makes a lot of decisions easier. A long holiday weekend wasn't totally consumed by a race 4 hours a way, we got to race in our own backyard and spend quality time with the family to boot. Wasn't a bad decision in our case, 3rd place paid pretty good for this 360 car at the 410 show.
I can also think of plenty of reasons why a few others chose to stay close to home: not points racing, the cost to go outweighed any benefit, racing the season championship at Knoxville and didn't feel like busting a** to go that far for one night..........pick one. It wasn't that any one car didn't want to support SIA, it just may not have been the most sensible thing to do for any one team. Let me know what YOU decide to do when you have your own race team & foot the bill.

I don't think Bart is head of the Invaders anymore. You pay the money to go and they will come. Don't get on cars for not coming unless you are paying the bills.

You missed my point in my earlier post about payouts at LOS. I don't blame any of the invaders for not going to that show after finding out the payouts for the two night show. If you want to blame anyone, blame LOS, for the crowd they had, the cars they lucked out and got, the paybacks should've been better in my opinion for a special race. If you want to donate to those drivers who went in the hole racing there, I"m sure they would be glad to accept your donation.

Thank you all for your opinions, good or bad I appreciate them all. With fuel prices as they are right now its understandable why some teams can not run. BUT If you are a member of the SIA you signed up to race their shows. My whole point of this thread is to point out the fact that if the members of the SIA don’t support the club unfortunately you will all be running at Knoxville or a local show for 400 or 500 to win because the SIA will fold. NOBODY wants to see that happen but without the members support, a club can not stand on its own. Fans buy tickets to see their favorite drivers who are announced in all the advertising and when that driver doesn’t show it lets the fan down, a fan who may not buy the next ticket to the race. Not trying to start arguments, just my opinion on a great organization which I enjoy and want to keep around.

You might want to consider that our sponsors wanted us to run 34 Raceway, as that is there market area. When you get $1000s of dollars from local business people, they want to see their names at the local race track. I believe the Invaders who ventured to the lake received additional points for their efforts, so in the point chase they are the winners. We also felt it was important to run our 410 motor in preparation for several upcoming 410 events that we plan to participate in this fall.
I would like to thank you for your support of the Invader series and I would also like to encourage you to become actively involved in the organization, as we are always looking for dedicated fans to help make the show great.
Hang in there and Thanks

smokerudrinkplayeruget...if you check out the 360's that raced at LOS on 8/25/07 you will see that there was 40 of them, so they picked up an extra 10 cars the other night and I believe 8 or 9 of them were invaders, so if you took out their regulars, they didn't have a big show. Yes, it's good to see 50 cars, that's why I say the payouts should have been better and yes people expected to see more invaders, but let them put some money in the purse and they'll show up.

The weeks before that they had 14 cars, and 13 cars. The big count (29 not 40) on 8-25 was literally cars that showed up dialin in for the big show. When the show payed 5000.00 to win its first year, the car count was upper 30s. They dropped ascs and the pay, next year the count was 62. If you want to support your posts with facts, be factual......

Whoops! Was my miscount, and I admit to that. But, I can still see why they didn't get all the invaders. Two sides to the story and money talks and so do sponsors.

Racing warden ~~~~ Good point about the sponsors wanting to see their car run locally. To bad 34 Raceways ran the same night as the Invaders but I thought they, the members, voted on going long distance. If not they should. Season is about over, lets go racin Invaders style
