I needed to have someone tell me he had brain damage?   You don't F#@% up a nascar career and great sprint car rides and follow it up with a 3 state high-speed chase on meth. unless you have something going on upstairs.

If a man kills his family, a lawyer will argue insanity.  There hasn't been a single person in history that killed his entire family that wasn't insane.  (I know the technical definition for insane varies from what I am speaking of, but insane is insane to me)   So that is a very dumb argument.

So, with that in mind, no one in my mind would do what Tyler did without having some kind of brain damage--whether sprint car crash related or not!

Kind of like the Brain damage Phil Emery had when he signed Cuttie to all that money.  Hey Sarge, I hope you and your family have a Happy and SAFE holiday season.  Talk to you soon.

The end result for the racing community remains the same no matter if he goes to jail or not. He will never see a ride again. Crash and burn like this and it's over.

You would be sadly mistaken. Wait and see. From what ive heard there is still a car in PA waiting to see how this all paned out.

Amazing the pashion for a guy with 7 career WoO victories, 1 gifted Kings Royal, and no other major sprint wins to speak of.  But he does have one HUGE drug problem and one of the most dramatic crash and burn racing careers you will ever hear of.  These stats make him a hero to some.  A loser to others.   But most don't care whether he ever drives a sprint car again or not.  Honestly, we're not missing much.  I think we all get much more enjoyment out of his TMZ style Youtube videos anyway.

And before someone comes on here with the stupid response of "if you knew all the guys doing drugs racing you would have no one left"... GARBAGE.  If I were to find out in the future that Donny Schatz, Brian Brown, Rico Abreu, Kyle Larson, Stevie Smith or anyone else for that matter was a drug addict and liked to get high and race, break laws, and act a fool I would have little respect for them either.

I see parallels here to the loud minority of idiots in NYC marching in the name of a couple criminals and by doing so stepping on the honor of two brave men who protected them from criminals like the thugs they were marching for.  This country has some mixed up priorities and some strange hero's.

They were marching to protest the killing of an unarmed man by police (for selling untaxed cigarettes) days before the 2 cops were murdered. The victim's Mom condemned the cop killing in no uncertain terms. Both events were tragedies, nobody deserved to die like that.

There are good cops & bad cops, just like everyone else....Merry Christmas everbody!

I think a lot of people are taking this thing to extremes on both ends. No doubt, the man has problems and they're big ones. When a guy is high and drunk driving at high speeds down the freeway running from the cops, he's a danger to himself and the public. Thank the good lord above that neither he nor anyone else were hurt or killed as a result. I don't necessarily agree with him not getting jail time but that is a product of a broken beyond repair judicial system which is a whole different subject. I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler while he was in Pa and he was friendly, down to earth and just a fun guy. Obviously when mind altering substances aren't involved he is truly a very nice person. It seems as if he's got a Jekyll and Hide complex and most drug addicts do. The shit just totally changes how they are. I've seen first hand how someone can go from a great person to a complete asshole when they start pounding the booze and you wouldn't even recognize them and once they come down, they regret every second of it. The fact is, he is being given an opportunity here that quite frankly, he shouldn't be given but he's getting it nonetheless. I was born into this sport and I've found that 99.9% of sprint car fans are some of the greatest people on earth who will unselfishly give money and aid to someone they've never met if they get injured in a race car and go above and beyond with charities such as the Kick-It for kids cancer deal. I think it's only fair that we ALL hope and pray for him to make the best of this opportunity he's been given. The hate, and bullshit does no good for anyone. Let's root for Tyler to get his shit together, beat this addition problem once and for all and whether or not he ever straps into a sprinter again, goes on to lead a happy and healthy life.

My prediction....once this case is finally closed and over with no possible recourse from the authorities the  " brain damage" that was convienetly discovered at " just the perfect time " will miraculously have been just a misdiagnosis . No brain damage at all. Just residual symptom of vertigo the poor fella battled earlier this year....... Bingo !!! Medically cleared to race once again. And here's the bonus prediction.... by the SAME DOCTOR ( probably an old friend of dad ) that made a slight error the first time he diagnosed him

I'm all for 2nd chances most definitely,  3rd chances would be rare but not impossible.  My problem is with 7,8,9th chances. He's had too many already. So not punishment for what he's done has taught him what lesson ? That daddy's money and attorney puts him above the law.

Why wear a suit and cut the dread locks off ? If he grows the dread locks back my question is .. why did you cut them off for court? Trying to fool the judge ? Got to be a reason for it.

And for the record I'm for anyone to finally get themselves clean, just don't care to see him in a sprint car again. Go race something else, dad has the means to make it happen.

I wonder if there are any dedicated Nascar message boards with the occasional " I really miss Tyler Walker, kid was a gasser, wish he would get back into Nascar " ....hmmmm ???

MSPN perhaps some so called super stars have used  "performance enhancing' drugs in the past.. I have heard of drivers doing lines of coke and speed before racing.

It's a sad deal.. All round.. Thank god he didn't harm anyone during the chase.

What's more sad is that some want to make excuses... A little like trying to blame the bar for serving you the drink...

The blind hero worship that society has fallen prey to in the last 10 years and lack of personal responsibility will continue to see a victim mentality increase to the detriment of the honest working American.

People now think they are entitled to fame and fortune and should be excused from the consequences of their actions.

Do the crime.. Do the time....

The cops did say they have never been involved in a more impressively driven car chase

This board amazes in how much posters are willing to give a free pass to drug use and putting innocent people lives in danger. It is not "hating" or "being without sin" to be disgusted by a guy who led cops on a 150 mile per hour police chase while high on meth.

People on here blindly defend a guy who leads police on a 150 mile per hour chase while high on meth, but sell cigarettes without paying taxes on them and the police are justified to choke a guy to death? Some on you guys have a really warped sense of what is a danger to society.

It just wouldn't be Christmas without a new Tyler Walker bashing thread.

I gotta go with MSPN on this one. If T-Dub somehow resurrected his career and had great success, he wouldn't be the first drug-user/felon in the Hall of Fame.

Hint: When a guy leads police on a 150 mile per hour chase while high on meth, it kinda takes away the moral high ground or outrage for the sake of being outraged. I mean, why would anyone object to such a fine dusplay of admirable qualities?

Chances are with no jail time or any punishment for his behavior hes going to keep doing the alcohol and narcotics.

Absolutely, I think the last statistic I read said aprox 99% of drug addicts that go to prison, continue to use while in prison, they also get to network with other like minded individuals so when they get out they can start buying and selling and using drugs on a larger scale. But for that lucky 1%, prison is enough to stop them from using. Thats why we keep building prisons, for that 1%, Soon we will have more prisoners than free Americans. The warehousing of drug addicts creates jobs and prisons are very pretty and make a great addition to any community. So if Tyler is not lucky enough to go to one of our fine American  prisons he clearly has no chance of getting clean, For Tyler's own good they need to send him to prison so he can get clean like the rest of the Prisoners.

Nobody is giving him a "free pass". I peronally think he should have gotten time, but hope he can eventually get his act together.

If you don't like it, complain to the judge, not us

Justice system is clearly unequal. A friend of mine has been in jail over 6 months because he got "T-boned" by a cop car. My question is how can a car move sideways? Cops said he was drunk but "lost" the test results. Trouble is the fool had 3 prior DUIs... but I'm not giving  on him

Sounds like 1% are getting a added bonus to me if they went in dope heads and came out clean. What actually do you think you are sent to prison for ?  Not to rehab you. Your sent there to pay your debt to society for the crimes you committed.  If Tyler walked into a police station before all this happened and said " I'm a meth head and am addicted" do you think they were gonna lock him up on the spot and put him in prison? They would have directed him to a state program / counsler to get help with his addiction.....all paid for by you and me. If he goes to jail it is for the 3 state 150mph fleeing from police and endangering his passengers life, police officers lives and innocent people traveling the roads he was on. Not because he is an addict. If he goes in a dope head and comes out a dope head he's no better, no worse than before he went it, but he did do the time for the crime. Then he can go to a rehab facility for help with his addiction. Am I understanding you that in your view if you commit any crime due to being a dope head that all punishments should be excused ?

Gives us all your master plan for doing away with all prisons and having bad people pay pay their debt to society.

I'd be willing to bet that if any of the defenders of Tylers family members were on that road and injured by his antics you all would be singing a different tune. If your son ended up in a wheel chair the rest of his life or worse dead. Would you go and ask the judge for leniency because it was all the addictions fault. Go easy on him judge, he a gasser and I love sprint cars. I think not.

You seem to be having difficulty grasping the basic conceopt of how a message board works. If you only want to read posts making excuses for a meth head, that's fine. Just come right out and say it. Not everyone is an apolgist who makes ridicullous comparisons between Meth and Ritalin to justify the actions of a racer that could have killed someone with his foolishness.

If their a menace to society then they need to be removed. Someone who is going 150 mph on our highways who is impaired is not acceptable and needs to be put someplace where the individual either pulls his head out or just stays locked up.
