Just go to a Non Wing Race!

And I'll see you at just that in just a few day's Bobby, at the Hall of Fame weekend at Canyon Speedway.

I for one don't ever want the old days to come back. 10 cars finishing the main event, 3 on the lead lap (for a 20 lap feature), and no real competition outside of maybe 3-4 cars (even with big car counts at a lot of races in the 1980's, how many times did someone like Steve, Sammy or Doug miss a feature unless they crashed or blew up?).
Everyone longs for hte old days, yet who won the races? The same 3 guys 99% of the time (Steve, Sammy or Doug) and a lot of the time Steve would win by 1/2 a lap or more and 3-4 guys would finish on the lead lap. No one else was even competitive for a lot of those years.
Today's racing is much tighter (weekly racing and the WoO) IMO and it's different than the old days (not better, not worse, different). Do you see the charges from deep in the pack to win like you did in the 70's and 80's? No you don't (outside of Schatz maybe, which makes what he is doing even more impressive IMO when you look at the competition level today), but you only saw those from those few drivers I mentioned. Put Steve, Sammy and Doug in their PRIME in today's racecars against today's competition and they wouldn't be near as productive (wins) as they were back then IMO.
