So, what will be the plan for Nationals if Weds gets called for weather?  Will it move to Thursday and Thursday to Friday and Friday to Saturday Afternoon?  Just wondering, but hoping for the best.

Or do an early morning show, before the heat of the day sets in. Start during the 8:00 - 10.00 am time frame. Don't remember the year (mid 90's im guessing.) but they ran one of the qualifying nights at 10:00 am on, I think, Friday morning. If I remember correctly, Wednesday and Thursday nights both got rained out. They ran Wednesday Friday morning and Thursday Friday night. I don't remember if Friday was ran Saturday day or Sunday night. That particular morning was very cool and damp. The track stayed very heavy and narrow. Not a lot of passing, especially in the heats.

Only been to the Nationals once, and it rained Wednesday night so everything got pushed back and the Friday show was Saturday afternoon.  Worst experience of my life at a racetrack (still better than most days).  It was so hot it was almost unbearable to sit in the stands.  Anything they can do to avoid that scenario would be ideal.

They could potentially do a monster show on Friday night, but that would likely invoke kicking everyone out after show 1 wraps up and bringing them back an hour later (different tickets for each night). You could potentially start at 6 for the wednesday show and 10 or so for the regular Friday show But that's best case scenario and the track wouldn't likely hold up that well.

No reason they can't run both shows on Thursday night.  Just alternate the program between Wed and Thurs races and keep the show moving along. Run group qualifying to spare the track and time consumption.  Desperate times calls for out of the box thinking.

As far as admission you just have to present two tickets when you enter. Its pretty simple.

Unless you had different seats for the Wednesday show than the Thursday show.....

The issue is that the same seats may be sold to different people for each night.  They will push back and run Friday during the day Saturday.  Problem is rain looks consistant through the weekend.  Wouldn't be surprised to see an afternoon show on Sunday and night 4 on Sunday night.  Wouldn't be the first time I've watched the final on a Sunday evening.

That being said, I've also watched push trucks run in the track at 1am for a Wednesday show.  They will do whatever they can to get it in.

Any acing on Sunday eliminates us... I'd rather see the in-out plan for Friday/saturday

When the new friday format was anounced they said if wens or thurs was rained out they would revert to the old format. Nobody will make the A through a daytime sat show. Thurs will run on thurs and wens on friday. Fri on sat afternoon and sat night as normal.

I believe that was 2008, as was my only time out there. What a hot day in those stands. Made saturday nights show feel like AC. That was a monsoon tuesday night and weds during the day. I remember sitting in the north campground and water was running thru our campsite above my ankles on weds afternoon. The morgan sure did flow that day/night!

Easily solved.  The track designates which night's seats you sit.  If they designate its Thursday's race you sit in Thursday's seat. If its Wednesday's race you sit in Wednesday's seat.

Per Johnny Gibson, if tonight is rained out, 2 complete shows tomorrow. Starting at 6pm, then clearing the grandstand and doing the next show.

That would stink to run 2 shows tomorrow night especially if you are the 2nd show it will all be follow the leader in that one because if they dont start till 6 they wont have  time to rework the track between shows to even make it halfway decent!

so then people would have to play musical chairs between shows.

and if you have to show two tickets...what if you only had tickets for the first show? are you going to make someone buy a ticket to the second show just to get in?

easier to just clear the stands between shows like they always do. besides there is usually some time between shows that run on the same day.

to indy and beyond!!

You run the shows simultaneously.  You run hot laps 1 and then hot laps 2, qualifying 1 and qualyfing 2....etc..,   No seat hopping need.    If they want in they buy another ticket or get a refund.  Most pople have multi day tickets anyways.  People over think this stuff.

Well this isn't a USAC show so you don't have to worry about that incompetence. These people know what they are doing. One thing I will say from personal experience is that it will suck if you are in a tent this week. Probably be better to sleep in the car which I have also done.
