Have to admit I have a new level of respect for Tony Stewart after hearing he spent his time in Oskaloosa for the Front Row Challenge helping Brian Brown and crew. I realize it was a 360 race but him spending the evening helping the one driver that is easily the biggest threat to Donny Schatz at the Nationals is quite impressive in my opinion.

I agree, but don't expect him to help Brown vs. his own TSR team at Knoxville

Stirring the pot with a paddle not a spoon......with Kinser retiring, did Tony have a long term motive behind his assisting Brown? Motive or no motive, Tony's assistance was a positive.

I was wondering the same thing. I am a big Brian Brown fan and think he is usually the man to beat at Knoxville. ( Unless its August and the #15 STP car is there. ) However it doesnt seem to me like he runs very well at other outlaw shows at different tracks. Even though he isnt driving for Kahne or Stewart, I have a hard time believing that he doesnt have the same level of equipment as they do. I would be curious however if Tony would give him a shot how he would perform around the country.

NO RUMOR - NO FACT, but just thinking how awesome it would be for Brian if TSR would pick him up when Steve retires next year. NOT say there are not others worthy of the ride, but Brian alway thanks everyone, his sponsors, the fans and the promoters. And being fast doesn't hurt either, and seems easy on equipment.

Perhaps it was just a social visit and they were sharing their low opinions of Lasoski and an evening in the pits?

I dont think the King is retiring he is just not going to run the entire outlaw series he is going to run a more scaled down schedule...

good call!
back to the TSR second car for next season.....im thinkin brian clauson. he already drives and wins for TSR and on his off nights, he is trying to do as much winged racing as possible. he has won a few championships, run nascar, run indy (and will be in the future), has a good media presence.....no "inside info" here but its just my gut feeling.

Yep. Brown shares his shop with Cole Wood this year.

I have no inside knowledge, I did not hear or read any information regarding Brown/TSR. I was simply thinking aloud.

Brown did a fine job learning how to climb over people to get where he is now. He learned from the master, I guess the result he feels was worth the means.

The problem with Brown is, he doesn't do very well against the outlaws anywhere else other than at Knoxville. I no doubt think that Brown is very talented and can improve, but I always tend to see his name in the 12th-20th finishing postions in his outlaw events outside of Knoxville and even the Midwest.

This is one of the reasons Brian Brown is on all the big team radars. He is a fan favorite, the PERFECT person when it comes to handling sponsors and a true professional. But I do believe he was quoted saying something along the lines that if he ever left to go to KKR, TSR, etc that he would be letting down anyone that ever believed in him and supported his efforts to build his race team. And honestly if you were in Brian's shoes, would you ever consider leaving your own team at this point? He has managed to keep major sponsorship on that car for many years now, from Super Clean, to FVP, and now FVP and Casey's at the same time. That's very impressive. Run your own team the exact way you want it with adequate funding while sleeping in your own bed a lot more than the outlaw guys or go drive for someone else for 3 years, lose the seat, and then have to come back and start all over again- that's why as long as he has companies like FVP, Casey's, Impact, Searsboro Telephone Co, etc on in his court he's not going anywhere.

Say what you want, but if I could afford a WoO team, he would be about #1 on my list to hire!

if smoke is planning on funding two full time outlaw rides next year i think the smart choice would be gravel however brown seems more like the type of driver smoke would offer a ride to..

I wonder, when Kinser goes part time, will it be with TSR or his own team? Own team makes more sense to me....

Not saying he would help Brown in Knoxville but he'll be in New York getting ready for the Nascar race so it'd be pretty difficult to help even if he wanted to.
