Another Sammy hater trying to make more out of this than there is. Being so far down in points they are taking the next couple of weeks to run at Knoxville and prep for the Nationals. There is no talk of him being off the tour for good. Get your facts straight hater.

I was hoping Sammy would do this!  I think his chances of winning a second Nationals have passed him by, but every year from here on out will only lesson his chances.  He needs to give it another go like he did in 2010 when he prepped for the Nationals for a few weeks--and he almost pulled it off.  Has he lost his edge?  Probably.  But, it's either now or never!  Wish the King would do the same!  Can you imagine the crowd if Kinser were somehow able to pull off one more Nationals win?  It would be priceless.  Even die hard Kinser boo birds would be up and cheering.

If the weather in Knoxville on race day continues the way it has been lately this is going to turn out to be as smart a strategy as cutting your weight so close you come up short at the scales or don't top off the fuel only to run out. He won't be able to blame it on Goodyear tires this time either.

Now you tell us.  Craig could have been out on the tour and Sammy could have been running Knoxville all year.

Did you see something else he could blame it on in 2010?  I was at the race and watched the replay on television.  I clearly saw his tire blow and the car turn around and lay over.  In that order.  You make it sound like he picked some lame excuse out of the sky or something.

Weather looks better and a few extra laps of tuning might be the edge it takesThe weekly field at Knoxville includes at least 5/6 people who will make the A main if things go right.Sammy will go down as one of the best and brings as many people as anybody to cheer or boo and that is what promoters like.People dont realize that sprint car racing has changed dramatically as every thing can be bought and there are not many places where an innovator can apply his touch. The days similar to Nascar where mechanical and gray areas in the rule book where people like Karl,.Leonard ,Sammy,Gil, Bob,or in nascar JR.Smokey,Wood Bros.Pettys could gain an edge by using their minds instead of owners wallet are long gone. When the rule book was thinner and pieces had to be built the racing wasnt as close. There are a lot of good divers but not many smarter than Sammy Swindell.I wouldnt rule out several of the older drivers but things have to line up just right as Schatz proved last year that he is one of the best even when starting at near the tail which to me makes a good race and shows what they are made of.

Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (July 14, 2014) – Big Game Motorsports driver Sammy Swindell will shift his focus to the famed Knoxville Nationals during the next several weeks.

Swindell and the Big Game Treestands team will compete at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, the next two Saturdays prior to the 54th annual FVP Knoxville Nationals Presented by Casey’s General Stores Aug. 6-9.

“It’ll be a big plus for us (to focus on Knoxville) because we haven’t been as good as we need to be there,” Swindell said. “We’ve figured out some things with the car and have been running much better the last few weeks. We want to capitalize on it by focusing our efforts on the Nationals. This is going to give us some time to hopefully get ourselves dialed in to be in a position to win the Knoxville Nationals.”

Swindell, who picked up his second World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series feature victory of the season last Friday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, will resume competition with the premier sprint car series on Aug. 1-2 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., for the Ironman 55.

The Big Game Treestands team will then tackle the 2nd annual Capitani Classic on Aug. 3 at Knoxville Raceway prior to the Knoxville Nationals that week.

“It makes sense at this point to concentrate our efforts on the biggest race of the season,” Big Game Treestands Founder Tod Quiring said. “This schedule puts the team in a better position for a strong run in this year’s Nationals.”

Swindell ranks fifth on the all-time 410ci wins list at Knoxville Raceway, where he has captured 48 career victories.

His most notable win was the 1983 Knoxville Nationals. Swindell has also garnered 14 top fives and 20 top 10s in his 31 Knoxville Nationals main event starts.

SEASON STATS –

49 races, 2 wins, 11 top fives, 19 top 10s, 29 top 15s, 40 top 20s

Sammy has won at the Grove in the last 4 decades as has Steve, they have nothing left to prove at that place.  They are amon the top 5 in Outlaw wins there ever with 3 other Outlaws of course.  I think Kevin won the Capitani Classic last year over about 80 cars maybe it's Dad's turn this year....

Sammy has nothing left to prove... and, as always, he loves collecting the haters' ticket money at the winner's circle...

He clearly stated he will be rejoining the tour right after Knoxville. Man, do all the haters act so dumb. Listen and read, two words most Sammy haters don't understand. It was in print and spoken by Sammy himself. Wow, idiots. People seem to forget Sammy may have only had a few wins last year to go along with his two or so this year just two short years ago he LED the WoO in feature wins. Hmmm, how quickly the haters forget, lol. Again, idiots.
