Eckert said he never saw a good wing show at Perris. We'll see about that tomorrow. With shoes like TK, "Opie" Sweet, Pitmann, Sammy, Kinser et al, I 'm looking for a great show. Bad part will be having to listen to Johnny Gibson go on with all that endless Outlaw hype. Hopefully our own Scott will be on the horn for the USUCK show. All depends if I can get thru Gulag security.

Did they reconfigure the track and make the corners wider?
I'm with Eckert then...

With Tulare running against PAS, car count could be slim. Saw in schedule they did not even expect a semi
If you judge the Outlaws by their performance at PAS, I can certainly understand why many on here do not like them. However if you judge Wing racing by the trophy cup compared to many of the snooze fest for Oval nationals lately, it would be really hard for wing fans to like non wing.
To be clear, I like/love both kinds of racing equally, but WOO show at PAS is a hard sell for me.
HOPEFULLY both races tonight will be awsome. I guess, the non wing will have more cars, and a much better racing, and than all the CRA non wings fans can than say again how boring wing racing is which is normally the case at PAS

Having seen a lot more 410 wing racing since I relocated to Central Cal, I'm not sure it matters what track these cars run on. The heats tend to be blurry fast parades pretty much according to starting order. The dashs can be interesting, but only at the start and re-starts. And the only action in the mains occurs when the leaders work their way through back markers, or on the re-starts. Take note of the finsh vs. start order of the A Main.
PERRIS, Calif. – April 12, 2014 – Joey Saldana converted his seventh quick time into his first World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series victory of the season on Saturday night in the SoCal Showdown at Perris Auto Speedway. Daryn Pittman, who led early on, finished second with Brad Sweet, Sammy Swindell and Paul McMahan rounded out the top five.
A-Main - (30 Laps): 1. 71M-Joey Saldana [2] [$10,000]; 2. 9-Daryn Pittman [1] [$5,500]; 3. 49-Brad Sweet [3] [$3,200]; 4. 1-Sammy Swindell [4] [$2,800]; 5. 51-Paul McMahan [5] [$2,500]; 6. 15-Donny Schatz [12] [$2,300]; 7. 83-Tim Kaeding [6] [$2,200]; 8. 21-Brian Brown [8] [$2,100]; 9. 29-Kerry Madsen [10] [$2,050]; 10. 5W-Lucas Wolfe [14] [$2,000]; 11. 4-Cody Darrah [7] [$1,500]; 12. 7S-Jason Sides [15] [$1,200]; 13. 11K-Kraig Kinser [11] [$1,100]; 14. 1A-Jacob Allen [16] [$1,050]; 15. 1S-Logan Schuchart [9] [$1,000]; 16. 11-Steve Kinser [13] [$900]. sprintfan86,
Can't say anything about your other comments, but since day 1when the schedule came out the WOO and 410 Sprint car race for April 12 has been advertised as a stand alone show and that season passes would not be honored. Not sure how you could not know that in advance.

eh. I've seen better races in both series, but both mains had their moments. They can't all be great. I really enjoyed the show over all. Being from PA originallyn it was great to speak with Bobby Allen. Also was able to get a photo with my 5 year old son and steve Kinser. I hope they do it again next year without another track/series running a show against it.

31 cars at Tulare. Those NorCal guys will not run Perris, never have. A lot of people must like Outlaws, judging by the large crowd. Ever see such a crowd for USAC? CRA has become a contest between Gardner and Spencer. 10 Outlaw races out here with 7 differant winners. Only Pitman and Sweet have multiple wins. Trophy Cup makes one dissatified with sanctions that put fast times up front for the feature.

Too me it's the same old stuff, leaders coming from inverted positions, last week Austin one of the fastest on the track charging through the field until bending a jacbs ladder, Demon and Spencer blasting into the turns refusing to obey the rules of gravity, Matt Mitchel trying every part of the race track at full throttle, Nic Faas doing battle with a set up that didn't come his way, Gaunt and Kruseman (winners/champions with no need to prove their talent) screaming down the back stretch like they were going to make the track 100 feet longer and listening to someone's engine (I think either Ronnie Gardner or Brody Roa-both former winners) revving so high the push rods were swapping holes. I'll skip the heat races, it's too dull to mention, I hate it when guys win their first ever heat race etc.) Just by the way, there wasn't anybody complaining about injectors not dumping enough fuel into their fire breathing time bombs at wide open throttle...and to anyone that didn't make it out, whew, you might have saved your self from a heart attack if you were 'sleeping' in turn 4. Think I'll take in another concert like the Eagles recently, only 30 bucks to park, $10.00 beers, and $400.00 tickets for a 2 hour show while they played all their latest hits, now that's what I'm talking about...more bang for your buck, I even heard one song that hasn't been played on the oldies station in over 2 weeks. (at $10.00 a beer, I stayed thirsty my friend)

Setting aside the Wing vs. No Wings debate for a moment , The Big ? is why does the WoO draw consistently big crowds & USAC/CRA does not , if every one starts thinking along the lines of let's look @ the WoO model & how we can improve on that, I submit that is when West Coast Open Wheel Racing has the best chance @ success .... or we can do the same thing over & over again & hope for a different result !

i think the answer is HYPE & REPUTATION . yes the wing cars have crazy speed , and the touring drivers have refined their tallent beyond normal comprehension . there is a reason why we dont see pure wing drivers transition to nascar or at least get a chance . on face book i stated that the 4-12 usac pas race was standard issue . what some might not realize is that our standard issue is beyond spectacular !!
