Common sense is like DEODORANT, those that need it most do not use it. He was in the car for a short period of time. You assume that every car, every engine and every pit crew are the same, so it must be driver for poor results. A driver can tell pretty quick if he fits in with a team. Sometimes it just does not click and you can feel it. If so why not get out so you do not waist your time or the teams time. It has nothing to do with wing or no wing.

yeah, he sucked in the 83 but how would you explain his winning in the fox bros 53? i guess he just forgot how to drive when he was in florida.

God there are seriously ignorant people out there. I seriously hope this was a fake post to just rile people up. If memory serves me correct, he started in winged racing in the first place. Micro's and then to the Ferkel car. Not to mention he came from deep to finish 6th at East Bay. Oh btw... Clauson won his 4th or 5th winged race. Its not easy going from either to the other.
Real race cars don't have fenders...

I was fortunate enough to see him win in the 53 last fall at Spoon River
