Anyone have any darkhorse picks for Chili Bowl?
I think Ryan Bernal might be an interesting one. He was fast last year (Other that his steering issue in his A Main qualifier). And has Levi Jones wrenching on that car. He may be a sneaky one this year. Also curious to see how Chad Boespflug does

dirtlover's comment about the Swindell's withstanding, I wouldn't call the defending USAC midget champ Bell a dark horse. Bell, Larson and Abreu are all non-Swindell favorites in my book. I'll go Haud for a dark horse.

Well the definition of a darkhorse is someone little known about that could rise to prominence. Last year Christopther Bell was a great darkhorse pick (And his performance opened the door to run the entire USAC national midget schedule). Its not necassarily someone that will win, but someone deeper that can make an even larger name for themselves.

currently, anyone not named Sammy Swindell or Kevin Swindell is a "darkhorse" at the Chili Bowl IMO.
Everyone has said for the last couple years that they are running for 3rd place, that means if ANYONE wins except Sammy or Kevin, that a "darkhorse" took the win.

Ok since most people are too simple to understand what a dark horse is, I will rephrase the question. Does anyone have any upset picks to make it to the Saturday A main?

Ill keep it on the original topic. Im really curious to see how Jason Johnson does in his CB debut in a first class ride. A few others that peak my interest are Heath Duinkerken, Dominic Scelzi, Frank Flud & Blake Edwards, all coming off of impressive Tulsa Shootout runs. As far as a Dark Horse pick to win the CB, I would say Shane Cottle! I really like the pairing of The Throttle & Bernie Stuebgen.

there are a lot of names they I could throw out there but for a Darkhorse that no one is mentioning id pick Rico. If he gets in a matt the pedal groove he's very capable.

Good pick.
What about the rookie in the Kunz stable, Tanner Thorson.
