Attempted the last 2 years for the speedweek show, but weather. & family has made me miss.. & I can't seeing paying almost $40 gif the BDC for one class of cars.. But that is just me..

I only pay $30 to see the BDC and I love every minute of it.  If you want to spend an extra $10 so your ticket says reserved...go right ahead, that's your mistake

do it in the dirt

Milt's ignorance is part of the problem with this sport and the "fans" that support it.  Racer summed it up for me and has it 100% correct.  Not only do we let driver/owner in for free, we also provide 2 free passes to all of our sponsors, track promoters, and photographers as well as the others who help us throughout the year.  On top of that we pay for all of the awards, hand out $30,000+/- in cash, and another $10,000 in prizes and certificates.  In 4 previous banquets, after the awards and trophies were paid and the catering was paid we "profited" less than $500 which was deposited into the following year's point fund.  Yes, Milt...we're all getting rich off of this deal you idiot.  Again...your ignorance (and those like you) are the problem in this sport and is what causes guys like me to wonder why I give a crap enough to do the things we do.  It sure isn't for the money!!!  Anyone in this business to make money is a bigger idiot than you are.

Swamp,,,its best if your a president of a series to not show emotions,,,,Things get heated up on these boards and the best way to stay out of trouble is not say nothing at all. These people will bury you at any chance they get,    J,M,O,

As a guy who supports the FAST series, seeing its president act like a douche towards fans who help keep his series going is kind of shocking. Yes, you may not agree with what they say, but since the topic actually didnt even involve your series, saying stuff like that really makes no sense. After seeing how little you think of the fans who help keep your series going, I think I'll take my 840 dollars (4 pit passes at 35 a piece, 2 nights a week, every week) that my family and I spend a month going to your races and go somewhere else. I hear Lernerville and Mercer put on really good sprint shows

OK, he knew the rule but its a crappy rule. Whats more important, showing up at the races orshowing up at the banquet? This man earned his points at the races, spending his money & risking his life. PAY HIM!
If its so important to follow the rules, dock him 100 bucks...

Swamp simply attempted to give some rationalle to the situation from another perspective, and that perspective would be from how his series would handle such a situation. I thought how he stated they handle these types of things made alot of sense. I don't know this guy from Adam and I have never been to a FAST series race but I thought at first it was actually nice that someone that has something to do with the sport gave an opinion, but that was immediately over ruled by someone that obviously dislikes the guy, posted and blasted him. There have been quite a few threads on Hoseheads lately about why this site has turned so hostile, this is yet another example of why people, escpecially someone that is within the sport, simply won't even post on here, because no matter what you say someone will immediately blast you. I personally like it when guys like JG or Brad Doty will chime in on a conversation but I guarantee you they know they need to be so careful because people on here will so easily turn something on them, I wish it wasn't like this so that more drivers and people like that would post. But it is

I think where this Swamp went wrong was replying at all after his first post, but I'm sure what these guys said made him mad. Personally though I'm not sure why these couple posts would make you not go to his races anymore, to say he was treating fans badly really isn't correct, the way those few that posted reply's to him talked they are not fans, they obviously have an ax to grind with him and probably don't go to these races anyways. There are plenty of people in the world that like to yell around that they were wronged or treated badly and they definately seem to come out on the interent, but then if you actually get around to hearing their whole story its usually not as grave as they've made it out to be. I guess I personally don't think that a couple posts on here are worthy of stringing the guy up, especially when he didn't start he argument, he started out just trying to give an honest opinion on a topic being dicussed.

A lot has been said but I still feel it is very "low class" for a track or association to withhold money from a driver and/or owner simply because they don't attend "their banquet!"

Bump till they get paid.  Kinda embarassing when Limaland would not even compromise and make a donation to "Make A Wish Foundation"

He probably spent more than 3k on diesel and lodging.   I can't imagine Hannagan is that worried about the dough.  If I was a track sponsor who ponied up the money for the point fund I'd be curious to see if it reappeared on the tracks bottom line.

Larsonfan - I am not speaking for Limaland, just in general as far as our rules go.  As I said, our policy would have allowed drivers to go to those races if they notified us by the deadline that they planned to do that.  That way in our banquet press releases we could let people know those guys wouldn't be attending.  Its pretty simple and all the drivers have a rule sheet that gets passed out in March each year...and that rule sheet has the banquet date on it.  Does Limaland have a similar policy?  I don't know.  Do we know for sure that these drivers will not be paid?  I think everyone needs all the facts before they start boycotting tracks and races.

Friends with Randy and Shawn, and NO they did not get paid.  I think it's sad, Limaland is a very nice track and I love going there.  The only way a boycott of the track would really work, is if ALL the fans and ALL the race teams (including the Brad Doty Classic with the WoO's) would not go to races there...and I don't think that will ever happen.  I admire all the work that promoters put in to have a show for the fans, and you're right, no matter how good the show is, how cheap the ticket price, or all the track improvements...someone is going to find something to complain about.  Even when he's mad or upset, I don't believe I have ever heard Larry Boos refer to anyone as an idiot though.  Not saying he's perfect, but, he does keep it professional.

Agree, but all I can control is the direction my truck travels in on Friday nights in 2014 - and it damned sure won't be to Lima.  I'm sure Limaland is hoping this all blows over.  It would have been nice to hear something from them.

A few more points: to whover said that that the money doesn't mean anything to the teams - several thousand dollars - money that somone has earned - means something to everyone, I don't care who you are.

Concerning the Doty Classic: I love Brad Doty - everyone does, and by me not going to this race is not menat in any way to be disrespectful to Brad.  Rest assured, Limaland makes some good money off this race, and that's who I am keeping my $$ from.  Honestly, I wish Brad would find a new venue to hold this race, Waynesfield, Lawrenceburg, etc.

To Shawn and Randy, I'm even bigger fans of you guys now.  I think it is great that you guys loaded-up and raced the Trophy Cup and the STN.

Take the wings off in 2014 and come and race Waynesfield!!

So... if these guys don't get paid where does the money go?  Sounds like an "all expenses" free paid vacation for the promoter.  Gotta love that fine print...lol.

So, any further news on this matter?

Lima, do the right thing for the future, hold the banquest in the offseason, or the day after the last race.

I asked Randy on 7 Novemeber via Facebook if he, Shawn Dancer, or Jeff Babcock (modified) were paid the point money - answer was no - Limaland was standing on their original decision not to pay.  I'm standing on my original decision not to attend any races there in 2014 as well.  Agree with your second sentence.

New plan.  Tell 'em you're goin' and then don't show up.
