I can tell you this Johnny Mackison quit at age 27 and still is the all time leading feature winner 50 years later at Susky.
In 1961 he won 17 of 22 feature races run at Lincoln Speedway, same year track champion at Williams Grove, Lincoln, and Susky. 46 wins out of 65 races run that year. Went south to Darlington with Davey Brown and a couple dumb kids who never ran asphalt, to race against Jr Johnson, Lee Petty and the boys, with a car they built themselves. They finished 8th. Had he kept racing who knows. In my book he was one of the best from Pa. Davey has worked with a ton of top notch drivers and his word is Johnny was the most naturaly talented drivers he ever worked with.
Ray Tilley and Jan Opperman were Selinsgrove masters.
Lincoln has to be Rahmer
Kauffman at Port.
My point is best ever carries a long history and records don't always tell the whole story. I was very fortunate to see guys like Johnny Mackison and Tommy Hinnershitz drive so I really don't like to tag anyone as best ever at any track. I really enjoy seeing new talent come in and wonder just how good they may be someday. Don't miss many races and still enjoy the heck out of it.
