With Stewart, Harvick, Kurt Busch, and Danica on the same team one can only assume Prozac is coming on board as a consulting sponsor. Man thats a line up of imbalanced brain chemistry

Uh huh...driving a race car is clear proof of sanity, isn't it?

I still don't get the hatred for Dillon. This kid is being blasted because his grandfather is rich? Sounds like a lot of jealousy to me. I said it in another thread, Austin has won a truck championship and is on his way to winning a Nationwide championship. He has won on dirt in a truck, on dirt in a late model. Money doesn't buy talent and this kid has talent. Even if Bass Pro Shops was a force behind making the call it's not like he's been running 9th in K&N East races all year. He's the best of the up and coming group right now, even better than Larson in a stock car. If I remember right, he drove by Laron to win at Eldora. Larson might end up being the greatest thing since AJ Foyt, but he's not better than Austin Dillon in a stock car at this point in his career. Facts don't lie.

I really can't disagree with anything you say. I don't have a hatred for Dillon. Just pointing out the irony. Fact: Grandpa is rich. Fact: If I were rich, my grandson would also be driving the best equipment available--so kudos to Richard for helping his grandson along.
But lets not be delusional. I would be willing to bet Austin did not work some of the jobs or hours that I worked (or most of the rest of us worked) from the age of 14-20. And, I would be willing to bet he was put in a position to make more money by the time he was 20 than I was able to make by the time I was 35. Can we agree on that at least?
All of that being said, I think it was just ironic is all, that Tony put a kid from a rich family (do you like my wording better this time) after bashing Joey Logano for being a spoiled rich kid that never had to work for anything like he did.

Tony see's thing differently than us mere mortals, in fact at times he thinks we can't see at all and he's told us so.

Agree 100%. Austin Dillon is a proven winner. I don’t know much of his career before. I know he raced dirt late models but I don’t know how successful he was. But I’ve watched his truck and nationwide career. He is always a contender and has the talent and other skills it takes to be a successful NASCAR driver. Has he benefitted from his grandfather’s money and resources? Yes he has. But in this day the stories of fathers mortgaging their houses and spending their life savings so their son can try and make it in racing are few and far between. It’s a rich man’s game and it takes money to make it in racing these days. I have no idea what his family is like but I’ve heard before that Larson either comes from money or has relationships with people who have money. That’s not to take anything away from him either. He is a great talent and I love watching him. IMO any race team looking for an up and coming drive would be lucky to have either Dillon or Larson. I just don’t understand why people take credit away from Dillon. He was afforded opportunities most aren’t but he has made the most of them so far and has been successful. Do you want him to apologize for his grandfather being RC?
To the cowboy hat comments: Why do you care what hat he wears? Maybe people think you dress or look stupid…but that doesn’t have a damn thing to do with driving a race car.

Lighten up Francis. Just asking what the deal was with the cowboy hat. Take a deep breath........

I've looked and I can't find that anywher... What I can find is that he's a big John Wayne fan and some of his favorite movies appear to be the classic John Ford stuff and such. He like's the looK.
Now maybe you should go back and look at some of the pictures of Hewitt and others during the late 60's and early 70's and come back with your opinion of some of those looks too. BIG GRIN.

These people are not happy unless they can wake up in morning and hate someone or some thing. That is all they have in life. The Dillon Larson deal will be very interesting on who does what in next 5 years, I think both will do well.
