Saw on shane stewarts twitter that Peter was in a bad wreck tonight and life flighted. Just wondering if anyone knows what happened? Praying..

from tommy tarlton twitter. pete was in and out of conciensness and being air lifted. he was hit in the cage by another car and broke helmet

Another update from Baine's wife is that Peter has a really bad concussion and is being held at least overnight for observations.

Status on Peter Murphy!! All is good, slight concusion and soar, no broken bones, vitals are good..

Leaving the hospital in walnut creek. Got to see Peter, he has a bad headache but was able and carried on a conversation with us. Good news!!

Truly one of the nice guys. So pleased to read the positive updates. Just last night someone brought up his name at Santa Maria and I replied; we have a good chance of seeing him next week with the coming to town. Guess we will have to wait until next year. He used to be a frequent visitor and won many races. Wish him well, and hope to see him back on the track soon.
