Hi everyone, many of you may already know me, but for those who don't. my name is Jake Valasek. I was born with Cerebral palsy, but it has always been my dream to race. I was fortunate enough to get a racecar for my 16th birthday. As we have gotten farther into the project, I have realized that I will probably need some sort of hand controlled system in order to race. Some of the Systems Ive priced to build them, it costs anywhere from $800-1000 dollars. To help raise funds for this I have created a page for donations. I would be very grateful if you took a moment to atleast check it out.

Now, I understand going on here and asking for help may infact rub people the wrong way, but honestly, I have to atleast try my hardest to achieve my dreams. I WILL NEVER GIVE UP

Thank you for your time.

Don't worry about the "asking for help"deal.  Heck, that's what fired drivers do every day.  Can you imagine the number of drivers texting the couple that own the Buffalo Wild Wings team?

There is a guy I've seen run I-30 and a few other places with hand controls and seems to have a pretty good setup. Does anyone here know who it is? Maybe he can help Jake out.

I actually found 2 racers on Facebook that use a hand controlled type of System. Mark Dowdy who drives a late model in Alabama and Erik Blada who drives a car like mine in North Dakota.

Brad Doty used hand controls to get around Eldora on that special Anniversary night for the Kings Royal, he is a regular lurker, part time contributor in this forum, perhaps he could help?

Contact Irish Saunders at Hoosier Tire. His son runs a 600 on total hand controls.

Have you talked to Erik Blada? If you wanted I could probably get you his phone #. He's raced with hand controls in a street stock now for a few years so he could maybe share some do's and don'ts as far as rigging the system up goes. He's a nice guy and I'm sure would be happy to chat with you
