Does this news up your chances of going to maybe 97%?
|
yes it does. I had to strip down my schedule this year due to a 15 month old daughter, but I'm covered for this one! behaved myself well this week, got the house all nice & clean, fridge stocked for Mom. Even if I have to go alone (which is the worst), I'll do it.

Do not feed the troll's
An Internet troll is someone who posts offensive, controversial, or divisive material on an Internet community. Trolls are an unfortunately common occurrence on many communities across the Internet, and there are various steps which can be taken to combat them. If you are currently struggling with an Internet troll, the best thing to do is to walk away, since trolls feed on attention, and they will usually disappear if they are ignored.
The evolution of the Internet troll was a slow process which began as computer users started to more widely adopt the Internet. At first, the term referred merely to someone who was “trolling” for a response or opinion, in the same way that fishing boats cast out large nets to troll for a catch. Over time, trolls grew more aggressive, and the term began to be used specifically to refer to someone irritating or hurtful. In this sense, a troll could be compared to the nasty creatures of Scandinavian mythology which are also known as trolls.
There are a number of different types of trolls. In the most classic case, a troll harasses an Internet community for a few weeks, posting contradictory opinions or statements on bulletin boards in an attempt to stimulate a response. Internet trolls are differentiated from people who genuinely wish to present a different viewpoint by their attitudes and aggressiveness; their goal is not to discuss a situation, but to frustrate the members of a discussion board. They often use fallacious arguments or attack the users of a site when they attempt to defend themselves from the troll's activities.
In some cases, a troll becomes a recurring figure who is well known by long-term members of a bulletin board. The individuals often tell newcomers to the community to ignore the troll, who may use various tactics to get a rise from newbies. In more serious cases, an Internet troll may try to drive a wedge through a community, often with the assistance of sock puppet accounts. A sock puppet is a fake identity which is used by someone who does not want to post under his or her regular name; some trolls have multitudes of sock puppets to make their side of an argument look like it has a large number of supporters.
Trolls can be extremely frustrating. Especially when trolls use hate speech and stalkerlike tactics, they can cross the line to being dangerous in addition to being aggravating.

All understood. We are going to hear from these guys anyway, and some of the banter makes for good humorous reading. These guys are all dickheads with nothing better to do than slam every one and everybody associated with something they cannot comprehend. They are immature little 'boys or girls' and I hate to put a bad light on little boys and girls but I digress. I have spit venom at Big Dickhead, Strangepuke and whoever their relations are, but I have pulled back and just go along with their 'trollisms'. They can all sit in their Mother's basement's, in the dark, playing circlejerk for all I care, I am going racing. Maybe I'll look you up Saturday, are you on the west side of the judges stand, up top? Larry, look me up. Top row, one aisle to the West of the walkway under the grandstand, Hepfner Racing Products t-shirt. I have 2 blankets down, I should have room.

I always set up to the turn 4 side of the booth up top. Stop by and say hi! I doubt the 2 main trolls will ever show face at any track and let us know who they really are. For all we know they might actually attend every Wilmot and or IRA race. We should have a good car count. Your blankets will probably get good and wet tonight which will probably help the track for tomorrow after a scorcher of a week.

I am hoping that they will dry in the sun, wind and heat tomorrow before I need to sit. They were working the track when I went up there today. You may be correct on the tools never showing., and I wouldn't doubt your statement on showing at all Wilmot and IRA shows. Big mouths and can't show face.

Oh yeah I'm pretty scared. Get f'n real. Don't be a nerd. Btw, can you explain the "wet blanket" thing? Sounds about right when talking to these weirdos. Btw Ibe been to Wilmot twice. This year, three IRA shows.

Last 2 years huh? Crazy, well Im glad I don't fall asleep when I am at a show like the Nationals. He was definetely there in 2011. I have pictures to prove it. I believe he finished one spot out of a transfer spot in the C main on Saturday. Ignorance is an ugly trait....

Balog was suppose to head to Knoxville last year but there was a motor mishap while it was getting dyno'd. Had to miss out because the engine was broke.

It was great weather, track was in superb shape. It rubbered up a little but with the heat we have had, all in all a great job on the racing surface. A little bermy in 1 and 2 but they took care of that with the grader before the A. Blaney took the A with Shaffer, Holtgraver and Balog rounding out the top 4. Kertscher did a slide job on himself and took himself out while running a very good 4th. Don't know what happened there. I would have liked to see what he had the rest of the way, but.....41 cars qualified. Great night.

The IRA updates had an 83 in 2nd and an 83s in 8th. Assumed Sexton was 2nd and Schaffer in 8th. Thanks for the clarification! Sounds like a great show. Disappointed I couldn't make it. What happened to Haud?

I don't think Balog is afraid or doesn't have the "stones". Watched him run last night at Wilmot with the All Stars. Started about 9th and finished about 3rd or 4th to Blaney & Schafer. He didn't qualify well last night and starting 9th makes it tough.
While I'd like to see him compete more against the Outlaws & All Stars, he doesn't seem to have enough experience on big fast tracks like Eldora and Knoxville. It also some down to finances. He DOMINATES the IRA with 9 wins in 12 races so do you travel 60 miles and win $3,000 or travel 5-6 hours to Eldora or Knoxville and get maybe $700-$800? Seems like a no brainer to me. He needs a bigger sponsor!
He's fast enough but not comfortable on big, fast tracks. I think he'll be fine when he gets more experience on big tracks.

Bascically, the race was over after qualifying. With the All-Star format, the top 6 in qualifying who make it to the A-main directly from the heat are the 6 cars in the dash. Five All-Star guys and Moughan qualify in the top six, finish in the top 5 of their heats, and fill the dash. Meanwhile, IRA guys sweep the heat races and do not get a single car in the dash. If I were one of the locals and didn't finish in the top 6 in qualiying, I'd park it for the night and let the All Stars run their show with their 6 cars. I realize that all the locals have to do is qualify better, but like with the WoO, at least you can make up for qualifing poorly by racing hard in your heat race. If this were an IRA or WoO show, the IRA would've had at least 4 cars in the dash (or redraw).
It's great to have good cars like Blaney, Haud, Schaffer, Cap, Holtgraver, etc at the show, but if the All Stars are gonna bring 6 cars to the track and the IRA brings 30+ cars, the race should be held under IRA rules. It's obvious that the All Stars needs to have the IRA way more than the IRA needs the All Stars to put on a show at Wilmot. It's also obvious that there's plenty of people willing to pay $25 to see 5 or 6 extra cars added to an IRA program. So...
Maybe what the IRA should do for their Wilmot shows (or wherever) is charge $25 for admission, increase the purse to $4,000-to-win for that particular race, and then see who shows up to run with them. At least the show would be under their rules and the deck won't be stacked against their drivers after qualifying is over. The Richert Memorial at Cedar Lake is a perfect example of that. It costs more than the average IRA show for admission, but it's $5000-to-win, and they always get a bunch of good cars above and beyond what the IRA brings to the track.
After 2 years in a row of watching the IRA cars get stuck starting behind the All Star guys because of the All Star format, I think it's okay to tell their series to find a different place to go. The All Stars do a good job of protecting their guys, so the IRA should do the same for their guys by not co-sanctioning an event that their drivers get handicapped in. Rant over.
"They'll learn."
