It seems USAC still hasn't figured it out . The highest car count I believe anywhere this week was 20 and now for the Salute to Indy which has been a yearly race at the PAS has competition from its own series. The southwest tour is going to run at canyon AZ the same day with the same title race. This has a impact on the race at the PAS because a handfull of the 410s usually show up from Az for the USAC / CRA series. So I guess we can expect the car counts at a minimum again. And here's the good part. The race track promotor for Canyon speedway in Az is also the race director for the USAC/CRA series . Now that is a conflict of interest.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

The AZ race is a 360 race/series and the PAS is a 410 race/series. The last PAS race only 3 AZ drivers (johnson, martin, pelkey) raced that also race with the SW series. None of the other 360 guys are going to travel to PAS to run with the 410s even if there was not a race scheduled in AZ. So really only 3 drivers will have to choose. If the the PAS race has their normal 30 cars, then there is the potential for 27 cars.
As far as a promoter that promotes two different series, I am not sure how that is a conflict of interest? I think a driver or car owner who is a promoter or official within a series they race, that to me is a conflict of interest.

ok is it me or is the southwest series a 360 series?
if so then no conflict with 410 show at perris since only a small handful of 360 teams have a 410 and can afford to travel outside of thier area, keanrs tries to not schedule over each other but pretty hard to do when working both 410 and 360 shedules and series for local and traveling teams.

if we lose kaeding , bernal , and the vander weerds to the 360 show we could very easily be just over 20 cars .

Johnson Davis pelkey Martin . And yes they do have 410s. But you keep going Kevin I'm sure your determined to run the 410s out. Just like when you schedule a 2 day show in Az for the CRA and schedule a west coast 360 race in Cali which again a a lot of those guys run the 410 series also.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

The 360 show is in AZ and these guys do not run in the SW series (AZ) so they will likely be at the PAS. The only potential loss in car counts is the 3 or 4 AZ guys that have a 410 who may stay home to run their 360's.

Same goes for the midgets...we lose bernal vanderweerd's and Niemela. They scheduled quite a few midget/360 conflicts as well. 4 cars can make a big difference.

YA bentaxle. ,,, Your right. ,,, loosing 3 to 4 cars can make a big difference in the out come in the show. ,,,, If by chance we would loose Kaeding, Bernal or Vander weerds TO AZ. ,,,, They may think that It could be a easer win for them in AZ. . ????????? ,,,,,, There really would not be a point loss by them not running at the PAS. ,,,,, WE WILL SEE . ,,,,ZZ

There really would not be a point loss by them not running at the PAS..
I have no idea where all this negative crap comes from about loosing drivers to AZ, when it's the AZ boy's who come over to run their 410's at Perris..As far as Kaeding, Bernal or any of the others who are running in the Cali 360 series, there are no points to gain if they run in AZ either. They are two entirely different series, just run under USAC's umbrella. But hey, send them on over, I'm sure they'd be welcomed with open arms.

It's not negative if your living in AZ and hoping to see some Cali teams come over..LOL Hey, if you guy's don't think it's negative speculating on how your series is going to go down hill with a very unlikly scenario, just what the hell is?

i enjoy that ya say if we lose these guys we have 20 cars,i think the real deal is if those guys come run with the 410 you are gaining and the 360 show is the one with the loss since those cars run the 360 series normally.

Right, the split is in Cali and Chris Kearns runs the 360 deal there. AZ has nothing to do with it except in a positive way, and that would be adding cars to the 410 show while putting on great special events like the Copper on Dirt.

You guys have no idea how difficult scheduling is. But thats ok, I am quite used to hearing from people that don't know what they are talking about, but still feel the need to tell everyone possible there opinion. We all do the best we can to schedule. Spend the money, and come hang out in Reno, where most promoters come and do their schedule, or at least have their schedule done ahead of time, so we have something to go off of. Do you guys really think that any promoter wants to loose car count? Scheduling is a very difficult thing to do. Damn near every track needs a Saturday night, because the fans wont go to the races on other nights. I have done non-Saturday night races with small crowds, but I didn't get on here and bash anyone for not attending. So, its Saturday nights, between March and October. Now take all the obstacles, like holidays, and fairs, and concerts, etc. Now take out the Saturdays that other traveling series have to run. Now take out the fact that there are many other divisions that have to run. Plus some tracks have mandatory dark nights. Now add up all the Sprint Car and Midget scheduled races, and fit them in. Very difficult.
We are lucky to get a hand full of cars to travel 100 miles to a race, but I have heard flack about 2 races scheduled against each other 650 miles apart. lol.
Which ever of you have all the answers, I suggest you put your money where your mouth is. If not, just support the promoters, and stop the negative talk on here, and everywhere else.
I have said this a million times.
SPEAKING NEGATIVE ABOUT WHAT YOU (SUPPOSEDLY) LOVE, ONLY HURTS WHAT YOU LOVE. Speak positive, or keep it to yourself. I know some of you don't have the ability to do that, and I have no answers for that.

So your saying the AZ fans need to give up a night of sprint car racing for a show in Cali? Hey, if we were still with the ASCS it would be the same deal, we'd be having a 360 show at Canyon or one of the other two tracks where the series runs. What about when they go on their tour this year Randy, should they plan stuff like that around Perris too? Truth is that the ball's in Cali's court and to blame any low car counts on AZ and Kevin Montgomery is just passing the buck.
EDIT..I was doing my one finger typing and I hadn't seen Chris's post above yet, but he makes some very good observations about what the real deal is here.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

Everybody take from it what you want but keep this up and I guess we will continue to see 18 to 20 car counts in the 360 divisions. And yes I'm glad the CRA still has strong car counts and I'm voicing myself hoping it stays that way.. I've already stopped traveling to most races and anybody that knows me.Knows I'd drive anywhere for a sprint race. But not when it isn't worth the money. And you also Kenny I hear you bitch about the car counts all the damn time . So get off your damn kiss ass horse. And you promotors want us fans to keep spending our money you might want to take a look at this. And he'll know I won't keep my mouth shut. Put on a good show I applauded put on a bad show and I speak up.

What!! You're full of it Randy, you have never heard me bitch about car counts either on this board or in person! Go ahead, see if you can find one post of mine complaining about car counts... You can't!.. I'm the one who always tells you and Greg that's it's going to be just fine when you start moaning and groaning about what the car car counts might be in a negative way... Are you delusional or what?. Me a kiss ass? Me a kiss ass? Now that's a funny thing to say about a guy who just recently and in the past has had his post's deleted for speaking up about the powers that be nowadays.
