I was told of this by George Welch, promoter of Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada, during the winter. They had a meeting of the five promoters about a modified winter nationals series at each track. There was talk about contingencies for the top ten (?) at the end of those five race Winter Nationals dates. The tracks I know that are hosting it as part of their Winter Nationals is Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada, Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Clinton Speedway in Clinton and Elk City Speedway in Elk City. I do not remember the fifth track but I think it is Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore. None of these tracks are to schedule their winter nationals the same weekend, all are different. Don't quote me on the payout but I THINK it is $1000 to win each show.
As soon as I or somebody else has more information, it will be posted here.

That sounds like a big deal and a good deal. Maybe if this comes off with a hitch they could include SFS next year like during the fair or something. If done right I could see alot of big names getting into this Series. There would be some drivers love to get 2 grand to win.

lol, you think Lanny would pay modifieds 2,000 to win! Why should he he'll get 60+ for 1,000, much less get involved with a track he's not tied to$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Lanny knows what hes doing, believe it or not!!! He could come up with his own mod show with a little help and support. Up until 6 years ago or so he had one of the biggest mod shows in Texas every year, of course he had big time sponsor support.
As for this 5 race series! Sorry, but the fact is, it would be a joke! Unless the money hit the tens of thousands, how many local state guys could afford running at all these places and how many would quite after being smoked or wrecked in the first couple? Maybe about 4 to 8 drivers would make all shows with the way its set up now!
But, on the other hand, running this race with the normal tracks winter national races, could make it a little intresting! Lanny don't like it because it messes with his tracks regulars that supported him all year!!!

I think that after the "year of rainouts" that drivers who have a chance to run at different racetracks will. I think the champ sprint guys will run as many winter nationals as they are scheduled to just be able to load up on consecutive racing.
Sorry Robertd but with it paying $2000 during each tracks winter nationals feature, you could also see some modified racers outside this little OKC area compete. Not sure what Elk City Speedways dates are but everybody else is seperated by two weeks from each other. I would love to do the PR on this thing for all the tracks as it has the potential to be big. Would also like to help find contingency sponsors and a race sponsor, but I wasn't asked so I will stay out of it.
Below are the dates that I know for sure:
September 28-29 Oklahoma Sports Park, Ada
October 12-13 Brill Motor Speedway, Meeker
October 26-28 Enid Motor Speedawy, Enid
November 2-4 Clinton Speedway, Clinton
Have no dates for Elk City Speedway, Elk City

Thats 2000 to win! Whats the payout for each race and for the whole 5 race series? I am sure some of the out of city or staters might try and pick a race here and there, but theres still alot of questions. Entry fee for all 5 races or is it track by track. What rulebook covers one rule for all five tracks, or do we have to go with each track too a tee?
$2000 looks nice, but whats under it?????????????????????????????????
