Right on the money Opnwhlr! I think she will have both good and bad races all season long.
But why, oh why, are we spending so much time and energy on any racer in Nascar? Maybe it makes some sense for Tony, or Kasey, or Jeff, or even Blaney (glad to see a respectable finish there!) or Stenhouse, but what relevance does Danica have to traditional or winged sprint car racing!?

Good for Danica....I'd like to see all the experts on here duplicate what she did.

ok I just left a female rights and lesbian appreciation rally, plus I know a woman, so that proves i'm not a sexist pig, now I can say that girl is no racer without people getting butt hurt. give me her back up car and I could outrun her 9 times out of 10, I know i'd take myself out at least once. I don't drive race cars but I saw it on youtube and it looks easy, but I don't have the marketability of being a somewhat attractive lady. go figure.

scripted my Nascar. DW said the cars are an equalizer to explain why Mcdowel was

Baby steps lead a lap,then lead a couple of laps,but carrers are built on wins lots of them not just one in IRL and none so far in taxi land,time will tell.

Careers are made of wins, but how many drivers have won a race in their first ten cup starts??? That is the reality of Danica, she only has 10 cup starts...Time will tell if she has had a successful career. So far, best female ever.

WoOSprint514, you are right, she will drop like a leaf in the standings, she is a rookie after all. What else do you expect from a rookie? And on point two, you are also correct; she will cause a few wrecks as well...nearly all rookies do. In five years if she is still driving like a rookie, she should lose her ride, but she is on a steep learning curve right now. She does have talent...and balls.

You seem to forget, and I am sure that you will be reminded by a few of the 'no minds' on here. He isn't driving GOOD equipment. He doesn't or has never had the luxury of driving top notch stuff. How can you expect him to compete with lesser equipment? Danica has the so called 'best' of equipment, money to give her what she needs to win, she should never finish out of the top 10. Right? All said tongue in cheek. Some will repeat what I said, but mean it......

Hey, GOOD JOB DANICA! Yes, I meant to yell that. She ran a good clean race and was up in the front ALL DAY LONG. Do I think this will happen consistenly? no. But name a rookie who did do this consistenly. She did great. So did JJ Yeley! Nice to see an open wheeler do so well. Because of hoseheads, I am now a full blown Danica fan. EAT CROW HOSEHEADS PEOPLE!

I thought it was nice of FOX to take a couple of minutes to mention some others that were in the race during the Danica Show yesterday. It's a good thing Jimmie Johnson won or you might not have heard his name yesterday. And, it's a good thing Matt Kenseth led the most laps or he wouldn't have earned any moments on the screen either. Yesterday was a prime example of why there are people who do not like Danica. Did she run a good race? Yes, she did. But the whole broadcast was all Danica all the time. The announcers couldn't say her name enough. Now, they are going to Phoenix, let's see how she does this coming weekend.

That's all I'm talking about! It's not so much her as it is the Media. Kudos to her she did run a hell of a good race. Too bad she could not have found a partner right at the end there because she may have even finished better than what she did..

Isn't it kind of like when SR was killed, and all we had to endure was JR this, and JR that. It has been 12 years and we are all still waiting for JR to do something. I hate hearing about him all the time, but it is what it is. All you Danica bashers, whether right or wrong, get used to it, it will not go away any time soon, and you guys who ABSOLUTELY HATE her, pull your pants up and get a life...she has bigger balls than you do....

But, let's look at this too.....................he won back to back Busch Grand National (now Nationwide) Series championships the only two years he ran the full series, in Winston/Nextell/Sprint Cup, he has won races on all sizes of tracks except for a road course, and his win list does include a Daytona 500. You say you hate hearing about him all the time but at least he's won quite a few races in NASCAR. I guess when you say you're waiting for him to do something, unless he wins the championship every year, he hasn't done anything, correct? I am not bashing Danica but, at least, maybe she could win some races before everything becomes the Danica Show. All the attention given to her yesterday was nauseating, at best. I may just start watching the video of the races and tune in to MRN on the radio for the audio.

I agree with you agreeing with me...LOL I understand that JR has won some races, but there is NO WAY in Hell, that all the hype he has received is warranted. He has done NOTHING. He has won 19 Cup races, only 2 with Hendrick, who some say has the best equipment. Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, have won 19 races. Danica has done NOTHING, but the hate being spewed? That is just wrong. In a couple of years, when she has a body of work to go back and look at, then maybe, but now? I don't think so. These are just my opinions.

I think what turns most people off is not what she herself does but, rather, how the media just fawns or drools all over her when her accomplishments do not merit the attention she gets. I like Jr but I was tired of all the attention the media draped on him after his dad's death, too. Most of the time it seemed like he'd rather have the media stay away from him too.
I want to see what Jr does with this new car. It didn't seem like he liked the POS cars, er, the COT cars ever.

Danica drove Hendrick equipment last year. What makes anyone think she'll do any better in it this year? Her teammate Newman is mediocre at best and if you think she's going to do better than him, you're an idiot. And if you think Danica will win this year, you deserve to be laughed at. When has she EVER shown to be competitive in the cup series? ANYONE?????

why dont you take another puff of weed and a handfull of pills. May I ask you about where Newman finished?????? I think you should look back on Newmans NASCAR record. Danica could have finished third, but she did not. Another driver explained that her lane stalled out with one lap to go. This is part of restrictor plates and aero. You seen it all day how the low lain would drop back, then they came forward, then the out side lane would drop back. I guess you had to be in right lane at the right time. When you wake up think about it.
