That was the opinion of a few that sat in my section. After Larson spun out was Sammy just sitting back holding the field back while Kevin drove away?

Not sure if you and I were in the same section or not, Longmiestr, but that seemed to be the consensus in our group as well. It's strictly MY conspiracy theory, but I believe Sammy was in fact running his own (wide) line at a somewhat reduced speed to allow Kevin to get close to the lap traffic, at which point Sammy had basically controlled the pace of everybody behind him, and even forcing Kevin to run at a slower pace having to deal with the cars at the rear of the pack. At this point, Sammy was the only one with clear track ahead of him. Everybody else at that point was forced into running a slower pace, and now Sammy can go run Kevin down, which is exactly what happened as he watched Kevin get to the rear of the field.

So, a little bump and run couldn't have been laid out? You can't tell me that everyone being 'slowed' up if this scenario is true, just chose to sit there and take it........Maybe give 'Slammin' a taste of his own medicine? Unless I am missing something......

Actually I am not sure I never saw anyone get close enough to even root Sammy out of the way. Did Sweet ever get inside him at all?

Brad at one time did get real close and it was early on in a restart coming in and going out of 4 But brad was clean.. If brad would have dumped him Sammy could have thrown a rock at him like he did allard.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Anyone that thinks Sammy was blocking doesnt know him. He wants to win everytime he is in a car. There is no way Sammy would schedule the 2013 CB with the plan of blocking to make Kevin a 4 peat. I am a Swindell fan and would probably believe Sammy punts his own mother to win before he would agree to finish second to anyone.

Just how it goes, when you have family and team cars racing amongst each other. See it all the time at local dirt tracks that have family and team cars. Nothing new, been there done that myself.

I guess Sammy should have just moved over and gave up his position (money included) to let someone go after Kevin. That is assuming he was blocking. Pardon me if I am wrong, but I believe racing is about keeping as many people behind you as you can. Give me a break with the righteous non-Sammy people! I happen to like Sammy and root for him on occassion, but I also follow many other drivers and root for them as well: Steve Kinser, Jac Haudenschild, Joey Saldana, Fred Rahmer, Greg Hodnett, Danny Holtgraver, Ed Lynch, Lance Dewease, Tim Shaffer and I could go on and on, but the ridiculous comments that occur on this message board are just that... ridiculous. Sammy is no angel and his past speaks volumes. I have shaken my head as well at some of the things he does and says. But blocking would not be one of those things. The jealousy is so rampant on this board. You keyboard jockeys, if your son was out in front about to make history, you mean you would wave the guy behind you around......I'll bet not!!

Someone, on another thread, quoted Brad Sweet as saying "He was the best of his class" meaning he had nothing for the "infamous Swindell outfit!"

You are correct. I don't think he was blocking at all. However, his car was not handling near as well as Larson's and Kevin's.

If Sammy was able to compete with Kevin he would have. He had nothing for him. Nobody else had anything for him. The End. If you think Sammy is going to let anyone beat him, you're nuts! Children included.
do it in the dirt

Saving the tires is secret code for blocking/parking in turn two until you feel someone. Luckily the rear bumper is shortened enough that It's hard to spin him out of the way. Yep.

This is a true statement indeed. I wouldn't necessarily say Sammy was "blocking" be he definitely controlled the pace of the race for everybody from third on back. Consequentially, he also set Kevin up to hit lap traffic at a specific point, at which time, the only car on the track with clear racetrack ahead of him was the #1....that's the same point at which time the handling came back and Sammy picked his own pace up. Call it what you want, but Sammy played everybody, set up his own son, and staged his own run from 2nd to what should have been a power play to pass Kevin in lap traffic....only Kevin got through the lappers a little better than the old man probably expected, AND add to that one of the back markers spun, setting up a green white checker with the lapper getting sandwiched between Kevin and Sammy. At that point, the race was Kevin's to give away.

Two questions....Did you see the tires on the two cars? Did you see the tires on the other cars...Enough said
