STOCKTON 99 DIRT TRACK
The Sacramento Bee daily newspaper reported on Oct. 26, 2012 that Tony Noceti, has built a new three-eighths mile dirt track in the infield of the one-mile horse racing track at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in Stockton.
The covered grandstand at the fairgrounds seats at least 9,000. Restrooms and concession stands are ample for fairgrounds capacity crowds. Since 1999 Noceti has been the lessee/racing promoter of the longtime Stockton 99 Speedway quarter-mile paved track in Stockton, just west of Highway 99.
The new dirt track does not have lighting for night racing so daytime races will be the fare. That will require excellent track preparation for competitive racing.
Daylight racing only will avoid conflicts with other racing tracks in the vicinity that conduct only night races. According to the story, Noceti plans to run eight to ten races after April. He reportedly made inquiries with the sanctioning body for World of Outlaws sprint car racing at his new dirt track in 2013.

A couple of things. Daylight racing at a dirt track invariably ends up being pretty dusty. Also, the track is inside the mile track? Seems to me that it is a bit far away from the stands.
This isn't to say that a new dirt track isn't welcome because it certainly is, especially one in California.

New Dirt Track For California Fans & RacersA three-eighths-mile dirt track is being constructed inside the mile horse racing track at California’s San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. (Tom Parker photo)
STOCKTON, Calif. — California racing fans will have a new venue to attend auto races next season.
Tony and Carol Noceti, who promote stock car racing at the asphalt Stockton 99 Speedway and its kart track, have reached an agreement — and construction has already begun — to build a three-eighths-mile dirt track inside of the one-mile horse racing oval at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds.
They hope to hold as many as 10 events at the The New Stockton 99 Dirt Track annually with a goal of opening in April.
“We’re anxious to get going, and I think this is a wonderful opportunity to bring big-time races to the fans in Stockton,” Tony Noceti told The Record.
Noceti has already begun negotiating with officials from the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in hopes of bringing that series to the track.
Construction began in early October and Noceti said it will be complete in less than a month and cost approximately $250,000.
Noceti sank approximately $1 million into Stockton 99 Speedway since reaching an agreement with its owners, Bob Hunefeld and Ken Clapp, to reopen the facility in 2009.
“It takes hard work. But I’m a farmer, I move dirt,” Nocetti told The Record. “That’s what I do for a living.”
One of the drawbacks is that the track does not have lights, so any events would take place during the daytime
some lighting for them..

The size of the track is good, lights are good, and if its anything like the rest of the tracks in the San Joaquin Valley, the clay will be the BEST. (not really to the liking of the WoO, tho)

I'd go watch a winged 410 race at this new track! If I like what I see, I'll be back for more 410 races. I don't see myself driving to Stockton for a 360 race, due to Ocean Speedway only 15 minutes from my house.

I'm sorry, but I buy American made so it will have to be a AR-15.
I hope KWS and CW sign up and maybe we could get lucky and have a duel meet(North vs South).

The promoters are Tony and Carol Noceti who also promote the Stockton 99 Speedway (paved 1/4 mile) and "Little 99" (Stockton Motorplex kart track)

The race fans are pretty harmless, it's the getting to and from the track, driving through Stockton that is the danger. It's the 2nd highest crime rate city in California. Be carefull!

Is that a road course go-kart track next to Delta Speedway where the BMX track used to be?
