It's Offically Offical!!!!!

"As we close out the 2012 410 Sprint Car season I couldn’t be more proud to have spent the past nine years racing with my son Derek and sharing in an experience that has awarded us memories of a lifetime. Derek has done a fine job of developing not only as a driver and racer but more importantly as a young man. This fall we ushered Derek off to his freshman year at Penn State University where he will dedicate the next four years towards his Mechanical Engineering degree. Derek strives to spend his summers interning in the engineering aspect of motorsports therefore adding to the core of his passion. I want to thank Derek for the wonderful times he has given me as a father and I know he will continue to make us proud. Speculation has been swirling over the past few months as to where many teams will land for the 2013 season in the competitive 410 ranks of PA. At this point I am very proud and honored to announce that Fast Freddie Rahmer has agreed to pilot the Sell Racing 20s for the 2013 season with Moon Byers as Chief Mechanic. We have been in discussions for past several weeks and we feel very strong with our team, sponsors and readiness for the 2013 Ice Breaker at Lincoln. We will be supported by many of Fred’s loyal sponsors of the past and will utilize Don Ott Racing Engines, Triple X Chassis and VRP Shocks. There will be a formal announcement as to our entire list of marketing partnerships in the coming weeks as details are finalized. We will also be working on a comprehensive schedule focused mainly in Central PA and wherever else Fred desires to run. It is also very important to our entire team that Fred be able to fully enjoy what I have been able to experience the past nine years and this is racing with his boys. When Fred wants to take a weekend to support his boys at the track we will all do so and enjoy every moment of it. We look to be very competitive right out of the gate but most importantly we have committed to ourselves that we will Have Fun! I’m really excited about 2013 and we will get a glimpse of our capabilities at the Final Showdown at Susquehanna speedway in November when Fred straps in to get a few laps in the XXX cars. This all could not be possible without the support of many such as my wife Tess, Deb, Freddie, Brandon and Chessie Rahmer, Bud and Lisa Stone, Greg and Sharon Walsh, Joe and Peggy Harz, Big Al and many other great friends we have made along the way. As mentioned above Deb Rahmer and I will be working to finalize a comprehensive announcement with details on each of our marketing partners within the next few weeks. I can tell you the list is extensive and it just goes to show the amount of respect, loyalty and confidence the racing community has in Fast Freddie Rahmer!"

I don't think this move is a " step up" for Freddie, but what do I know. Sometimes a change of scenery is good for everyone. If it helps Fred with his confidence, then so be it! Surprised the team is sticking with xXx chassis though. However it looks like Fred is going back to what he has had success with in Don Ott engines and VRP shocks.

I bet a bunch of people thought the same when he went to the Clemens car. Sure Mike Carber won a few races but at the time, they were nowhere near the caliber of car that Fred was accustomed to being in(Apple, Hamilton, Harz, Kline) and he went out and won races and championships. Besides, there isn't much out there that you could consider a "step up" and all of those rides look pretty secure.

Not disagreeing. I am kind of hoping the Sell 20S can be another Trone 39 that Hodnett is driving. They took a very average car, added a bunch of sponsors and with Hodnett and Lee Stauffer back together they are now a force in Central Pa. Fred and Moon Byers have had much success together in the past. Hopefully they can do it together again.

I just dont think he has what he used to. Had a very top notch car this year and did nothing but go backwards, and then went to a semi decent car and didnt even make the feature or finish the race when he did. He is the only one in the Clemens car this year lately that didnt have that thing cruising around the track.

Let's be fair here. It's no shock that the 77 looks bad right now. When Ott announced that Fred will be filling in for Aaron. He stated that he was doing some Motor R&D and needed an exp. driver to give him Good Feed back. Fred needed a ride and fit the bill.Fred don't just pull in with a good car. Not Freds fault the car had motor Issues. The motor blew in the 77 a lot this year, and the year before. So you can't blame the 77's poor performance on Fred. it's been that way most of the year. Hit or Miss. Could be Barry couldn't set the car up to FREDS liking or FRED didn't like Barrys set ups, and maybe the other two drivers clicked better with Barry. Fred DIDN'T just wake up one day and forgot how to drive. YOU WILL SEE A DIF. FRED RAHMER IN 2013.
