& just what happened to the deal where there is to be no MONOPOLIZING ?? How could another tire company come in when American Racer has 3 year & Hoosier has 5 year deals ?? You'd need alot of R&D &/or a series (BOSS) if the racers were willing to try you're tire.

As asked in an earlier post and never answered. Where is the press release from WRG/WoO that says this has actually happened????

Its pretty obvious, their contract with Goodyear is over & done, they have already knocked back Hoosiers proposal for a contract, that I can guarantee, that only leaves one tire company left, unless of course Firestone are on the comeback. Hmmm maybe thats it,Firestone are! haha

The ascs might might not pay ten grand to win but they put on a heck of a lot better 'racing'than the woo.(Freight train at every track) and at half the ticket cost.that's why you are seeing some pretty good shoes from the woo running with the ascs ,like herrera, jeff swindell, the dud, even sammy before the bg ride came along. Jmo. How much has the woo expanded? Oh that's right the gum out series didn't....

Unless I missed it, the major point of the WoO running AR tires is that the racers who want to race with them have to run the tires that are required by the WoO. So far those organizations and tracks that are running Hoosier tires are Knoxville which includes all divisions AND the Nationals, KWS, MOWA, Fremont, Attica, and hopefully the PA Posse. Don Ott had a post on paposseracing.com a while back concerning the use of AR tires. The cost was going to go up anywhere from $40-55 per tire which is just ridiculous, and as a car owner/engine builder this makes no sense what so ever because this is just that much more of an added expense for him and the other teams that will use AR tires. So the logical choice is that the WoO use the same tire that everyone will be using, this is just smart business. That's my two cents.

If the outlaws go with american racer, good luck getting more than 5 westcoast teams to run their series. They will not buy a set of tires, plus the fuel and the chance of wading it up, for only $500 to $800 to start. Just simple math

Some dork that must have a relative working for Hosr Tires or some similar assinine reason, enters the nine-millioneth WoO will die. Anyone wanting to put money on that, contact me, we'll work out some kind of "personal bet", money given to a 3rd party. What a dumb ass. Of all the dumb ass posts I've seen here and brother, there have been many, this has to be near the top. Like the guy said, exlain yourself azzhole. The death of the WoO. Yeah, that's gonna happen. Record breaking crowd attendance in 2012, race tracks desperate to get a WoO race at their track, a series that makes USAC or the All Stars seem like tiddlywinks (spelling), etc etc.

Sounds like a guy who works the teleprompter for F student da Bum in D.C. but had to live without one during the debate.

tracks desperate to get a WoO race at their track

Could you elaborate on this portion of your comment? I'm very curious about where these tracks are located.

Thanks

Ditch the tire rules and open it up to any brand. Bring back the Run Watcha Brung days.

Its not about the so called "record breaking attendances" like you say,nor the tracks desperate to get a WoO race like you say! If that was the case? Why did WoO cut their purse,in turn making it cheaper for a track to put on a race,if these "so called" tracks you say are knocking WoO's door down to get a race?

Its more to the point that WoO is dying in a sense of,they are doing everything to drive the racers away! Have a look at the car counts over the years! The Kings Royal, Knoxville Nationals, Chico Gold Cup & a majority of the WoO races dont get HALF the drivers they used to! Its not only the economy you can blame.

Hows it going to be if they go to American Racer next year when a majority of tracks have signed with Hoosier? How many locals are going to buy about 4 to 6 rear tires for the night, plus two fronts,if they make it all 4 corners? Then when you go to your "local" track to see a WoO race, dont complain when you pay $50 to go watch 8 WoO drivers race, because no "locals" can afford to!

entertaining thread.

Exercising short term memory and common sense - of course it's not a good move at all. Except for the WoO because they want a contract with AR that gets them more money.....however the amount of cars this will keep out of WoO shows will more than offset whatever they gain by such a deal. But as long as the promoter pays the sanction fee and they get theirs.....who cares if the promoter paying out the wahoo to host your series is already at a disadvantage because of a deal you inked out of pure, blind greed.

I'd be suprised if it actually happened. And actually as much as it's supposed that what everyone on here does not matter.....actually several are looking at it the right way and have identified it as such. Screw the advantages anyone would claim - it's a deal that the WoO are considering because there is more in it for them than the other tire manufactorers are offering. That in itself isn't so bad - except that it will literally come at the expense of those you need to come race the show. This is a good way to cut that number down significantly.

very good point and well put. some peeps here just think that all teams "have the resources" to comply with whatever rules or sanction they are running. WHY? because it's not there money that's why.

i would be curious what the "average age" of the woo-zer fan base is. that would be a great thread don't you think? it tells the story imo. think i will!

Early to mid 90's I went to Eldora & they had 17 cars, I was pissed, You all can have your Quality over Quanity. I want to see more even if I know that a few guys have no chance in hell. At least at that time if 7 fella's would have showed up they would have made the show. If this deal here comes to them having only 17 cars for what they are charging, Good riddance WOO. I'll find some other race to go to if & when they come to Limaland, Eldora, Fremont & Attica. Same goe's for the All Stars. It's really up to the racers if they want this type of thing or start another series like Boss & run whatever you want in tire choice. Maybe Aaron can start another series with it being of the winged variety.

Deano.... Its OK, its OK. Its Chico and the new clay made it all worth while. Where else can you watch 'em back it in turn 4 and lift the front wheels all the way down the front stretch? (too bad the WoO hates a heavy track, lol) Thats it from the 'ol Slide Job!

yeah, the track was great and they can take their dry slick wit' em. they are just pricing themselves out of the already strapped market imo...

I love the threads that bring out the WoO haters on the board. The epic Sides thread was priceless, and this one has some promise.

I remember when the WoO mandated the $125 fee to race with them, there were those who said that was going to eliminate all the smaller guys from racing w/ them. It didn't happen.

Whenever there's an open tire rule in PA in the last few yrs, 3/4ths of the teams run Hoosiers instead of Goodyears. Why go buy another set of tires that you can't run anywhere else (for purses well below that of a WoO show)? If they are willing to do that for a local show paying 1/2 the purse of a WoO show, they'll do it when the Outlaws come.

I'm pretty sure in 2010, Cali ran Hoosiers instead of Goodyears, and when the Outlaws came to town, it was all fine. There was no boycott, no drama.

I'll admit, if the rest of the country follows suit and doesn't want AR, I think the Outlaws need to rethink, but this hysteria by the few on this board is a bit over the top.
