I'll be impressed if he makes the A.

Their are only a few that have a legitimate chance of winning Sat night, he's not one of them.

I am a huge Kyle fan....been watching him race for 7 or 8 years now just watching him get better and better. I will be somewhat surprised if he finishes really well. I'm hoping he can make the A in his first Nationals, I think that would be a success. Our Cali guys usually struggle the first time to Knoxville except for Tyler Walker....I think I remember Tyler making the A when he was 17. I could be wrong though looking at what Kyle did at Eldora last year. I just think he has not been running the winged car all that much this year except for the speedweek races he did, and they fought a lot of car problems that couple of weeks. If he was just racing the winged car all year I think he would do better but either way I hope he has a good Nationals......just wish I could go!

Just a quick question pertaining to Larson.

Who/what kind of funding does he have behind him? I'm guessing it is nearly unlimited.

What would it matter? So does anyone else that wants to have a legit shot at nationals or any big race for that matter. If he's got the funding why not be able to have that advantage. He's obviously proven that he's got talent, and the people who are behind him realize that and are making the investment.

he has to beat names like Schatz, Kinser, Stewart, lasoski. i say b-main at best. no offense but even great drivers like Sides have issues. it's nationals. just my 2 cents.

He drove a hell of a race and if his front wing wouldn't have came off he quite possibly could have won the race tonight. He put a slide job on Stevie Smith that made him look like he was sitting still (Larson had to back off before making it stick though because this occurred when the nose wing came off the hinges).

Larson looks like he could be a contender at Knoxville, they had a hellacious field of cars tonight and he was picking them off very quickly. The 360 looks like it might require a bit more horsepower as he didn't do as well and just didn't seem to have the speed of the 410 (had a terrible start in the 360 feature and salvaged a 15th finishing spot by passing 3 or 4 cars I believe).

He's is going to make for an interesting show during Southern Iowa Speedweeks.

This kid's racing accomplishments at his age, at this point in his career are absolutely incredible... winning huge races in not just one division or two but in several. He also shows a lot of class and humility for his age. None of this means he's going to win the Nationals, but it's hard not to like him himo, unless you're just a hater to be a hater wink

I realize that Kinser, Schatz, Swindell, Saldana, etc have nearly unlimited funding for their cars.

It just appears like someone is laying out millions of dollars for Larson to have the best equipment in several different classes and types of cars.

It's obvious he's got some talent but $'s make sprint cars go fast, esp at Knoxville.

I still say it will be impressive if he makes the A. Last nights field was tough but nothing compared to the Nats.

It took him about 5 laps in the A to get how to run the bottom figured out and he was coming hard. He had no trouble running the top and taking it deep into turn one. I've watched him a bit over the last couple of years and he is the real deal. He impressed my friend Brad Foster who supplied the engine when Kyle did so well in Brett Milburn's car in Australia. We'd all like to see someone new win the Nationals and I'd say Kyle has the best chance of anyone. A good time trial and no bad luck and he'll be in the A. He certainly is a racer!

It takes sponsors that BELIEVE in you: Kinser Bass Pro Shop, Swindell Big Game, Saldana Great Clips, Schatz STP .

All these drivers and Larson as you mention, it takes talent and sponsors that want to be associated with them.

No different in NASCAR, Indy and other types of racing. Sponsors want to be with the best that is why they have the best equipment.

FYI money, a driver with great driving skills and a good crew chief makes a car go fast and win. You can have all the money with the best equipment but if you dont have the other ingredients it will be tough to win!

For any driver competiting in the Nats it's tough. Thru the years there have been many great drivers that miss the A main. You need luck to be on your side and everything to go just right.

His car looks almost the same as Rico Abrau. Pretty impressive run in the A main until his front wing collapsed.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda ... Larson's move from 21st to 4th was most amazing. If (BIG if) he had not got dq'd and his nose wing didn't fall down, he might have won the race his first time here. Very impressive debut. Win the 2012 Nats ? doubtful a top 10 is certainly not a stretch of any imagination if last night was any indication of his ability. A lot of it will depend on luck but he showed he can pass cars and so he might have to come out of the C or B mains but he passed a lot of good cars last night in 15 or so laps.

One of the biggest factors during the Nationals is luck. Kyle hasn't had the best of luck lately, but I think he is capable to making the A main. This year if luck holds out though, could go to Brown. He seems to have a great 410 motor package and has been looking fast and he has a lot of confidence at Knoxville.

Remember last year, his first time at Oskaloosa and the first time in the Hoffman car, he won the feature. This year he ran Ohio Sprintweek and did well but he started the Pennsylvania Sprintweek and quit with two races remaining due to poor performance. May have been car problems but the Superman cape did not fit that week.
