Does anyone remember the Hutchinson Nationals back in the hay days of Supermodifieds, they gave cars to the winners. Just one rollbar behind the head, a handkerchief for the dust and a good pair of google's, man those were the days when men were men and racing was not what it is today.
They still run the event and drivers still want it on their resume. Jeremy"Souper"Cambell from Wichita Ks. can do just that, he won the Nationals Saturday night and his name goes on the list with some of the best of the best to ever race at the event.
Yes this is the transplanted Cambell from some where back East, one of those Kansas farm girls got a hold of him and he planted roots and is now a Jayhawker, yes he used to run with the outlaws.
Also catch the name of the driver running in 2nd place for a while, Swindell I think it was.
You will have to jump in on the video about 18:50 for the sprint part, another former WoO competitor Mike Peters talks with the Cheese Works about running the Hutch Nationals, if I figure it right he has been running this event for 40 years, he started outside the 2nd row for the a-main. Enjoy.
