Sides Stunt: “World
Wide” Paul Sides Plans to Stun Fans with Arial Acrobatics in Oskaloosa
When race fans go to the track as exciting as it can be
seeing a car “get upside down” is usually not a good thing, but that is exactly
what “World Wide” Paul Sides is planning to do at Southern Iowa Speedway in
Oskaloosa. During the Musco Lighting Front Row Challenge (FRC), Sides will be
throwing danger to the wind and will be performing a gravity defying back flip which
will thrill audiences.
"I'm not stupid, I just make stupid decisions
sometimes," Sides commented about his decision to try this daring feat.
“My brother Jason and I have been talking about this for about five years, but
we never took the steps to put it together. This year during all the rained out
races in California while enjoying a cookout with co-owner Blake Robertson of BR Motorsports/King Racing Products, the plans were set in motion.”
To commemorate this death defying act, t-shirts featuring “World
Wide” Paul Sides will be available. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to
charity. During the evening, Sides will choose a driver and that driver will
get to choose the organization which will benefit from the donation.
“I have several people that I have to thank for putting this
together,” Sides Explained. “First and foremost, I would like to thank my wife Deanna, and my children Sydney and Sawyer. I would like to thank BR Motorsports, King Racing
products, SKR, Butler Built seat, VRP Shocks, and RE Technology for supplying
my stunt vehicle. I also need to thank Kerry Madsen for his support in this. Thank you Terry and Lori McCarl for giving me this opportunity. Last, but not least, thank you to my brother Jason and Sides Motorsports who have been
instrumental in making this ‘bench talk’ become reality.”
During Sides racing career he has been known for his
daredevil driving style in each class of cars he has raced from Mini-Stocks to
World of Outlaw Sprint Cars. As the date ticks down to his daring feat, Paul
has come up with his own special way to explain what the experience will be
like for fans.
“The word of the day when I go out there to do the back flip
is GYRONETICS.”
What are gyronetics? Stay tuned to find out!
