"Fireball" Jim Jenkins of Slater, Missouri passed away last night after a long hard battle with illness. Fireball raced the midwest dirt tracks in five decades (50's 60's,70's 80's and into the 90's) in coupes, super modifieds and sprint cars. RIP "Fireball".

I had the honor of getting to watch Jim race nearly every summer Sunday night at Marshall, MO from the mid 60's thru the tracks closing in the early 80's and at other tracks across the Midwest. RIP Jim.
