Ok another very basic question. I'm looking at Jegs catalog online and they have ptfe/braided steel line for use with reusable AN fittings they say are compatible with methanol for sprint cars. I'm thinking that the the vibrations of a sprint car require spending the 700-$800 for something along the lines of Startlite custom lines with crimped AN fittings. Or does anybody with any sense use ptfe/braided/reusable AN lines and fittings?
Thanks,
VictorSlik

It won't look pretty. AT ALL, but the blue push on hose will work. You should be replumbing the car every year anyway.

with push on hose you should put a hose clamp on the the pressure hose, we blew one off a
nd killed a motor

We've never had a problem with the blue push on hose. We hose clamp the barrel valve fitting simply because it gets taken off every race and wiggling it so much could cause it to get lose and leak. It's not the lightest or fanciest looking but it's outran a lot of cars that did have the fancy hose. As with all aluminum fittings, be careful not to over-tighten them. They're easy to crack.

For what it's worth, I use the push 'n' lock stuff on my outlaw karts, and I've never had a problem with the vibration. If there's anything that will shake the brains out of your skull, it's a kart.

Not a good idea to use a hose clamp on puch-lock fittings, the barbs are sharp enough to cut the inner liner of the hose if tightened too much, they make a crimping tool to crimp the outer shell if you don't feel confident in the holding power of the fitting. I have used and sold plenty of these fittings and have not had anyone have a problem with them blowing off, this includes a blown alchohol drag racer.

cannot believe anyone thinks the blue doesn't look good.

The Blue Pushlok hose is awesome. We used it on our Midgets. I just wish that we had been smart enough to put it on the Sprinter. I am tired of getting poked by the braided hose.
Never hit stationary objects!

Ok blue push on hose is something I haven't seen as an option. Can anybody tell me a what to look for in anybody's catlog or where in particular to buy it. I find steel braided/ptfe and start lite crimped fitting hoses.
As always apprecite the advice and patience.
Thankls

A lot of places sell it. Here is Speedway's page:

You can call them and ask for the sprint car guy. They're pretty good and almost always have cheapest price.

You can also get it at a LOT of heavy diesel parts stores. That's where I got mine, and it's usually cheaper than if you buy it from a racing outfitter. The only place I don't have it is on my PS pressure line, that has to be a special hose/ends to withstand the pressure.
