Jamie,
Since you are a car owner, look at it from a car owner perspective and give us your opinion. Is this good for you if your driver was 17th in points after Thursday night??
Seems to me like this move is only for the fans (which I am one), but I am also a realist and know that you have to have both sides of the equation happy to make things work long-term. This is anti-racer in the long run IMO.

As a fan, I love it. As a car owner I don't think this would impact me running. Because most of the time spots 17-20 are filled by guys who qualified very well but didn't transfer out of their heat and finished 3 or 4 in their B on qual night. So usually these are better teams who struggled rather than below average teams who excelled.
I'm glad to hear points to fill remainder of Saturday field will be cumulative and not reset before Friday. Still makes for an amazing Friday night.
Still wondering if anyone knows if Race of Champions and World Challenge will still be run as well.
I'm not right guy to ask anyway since we were never competitive at Knoxville. By the way, we sold all of our stuff. Between the 3 of us we now have 11 kids and the oldest are getting to age of racing go-karts and mini bikes so sprint cars are on the shelf for about 10 years.

Didn't realize you got out of the Racecar Ownership side. Hope your kids don't run you out of $$ with the go-karts and mini-bikes (those just lead to 4 wheelers, entry level racecars, etc.).
I noticed that the Raceway hasn't put anything on the website yet as far as how Friday Night will work, so IF they do indeed use Wed/Thurs points to line up the remainder of Saturday as it appears they will, it doesn't bug me as much (but I still don't think it's a good change long-term).
Last years 17-20 starters were: Shane Stewart, Tim Shaffer, Craig Dollansky and Jason Johnson. I would hardly consider them as guys that "lucked" their way into a Nationals starting spot. How mad would people have been in 2011 if Stewart or Shaffer had been bumped to the B main because of another night of qualifying (finished 2nd and 4th in the A).
