This time of year you always hear about points funds, the lack there of, or how someone got screwed. The list goes on and on. I'm not the guy to ask about point funds I promise you wouldn't like the answer you would get from me. When I look at the stands from the pit side no matter what racetrack I'm at and wonder how much money did they lose, did they break even again, or maybe the stars lined up just right and they made a little money tonight. I put myself in the promoter's shoes. Yeah, I know it's their baby but they aren't any different than any of us. I'm sure they have bills and a family to feed too when it all comes down to it. Back to the story here. This week I recieved my points fund check in the mail, it was $10,369.10. I was shocked! I would like to publicly thank Bob Goins, Keith Sanders, and David Bohanan and their families for their hard work and commitment to rebuilding Salina Highbanks Speedway.

Looks to me like they could up the pay outs for racers for traveling, winning, expenses for all racers instead of dishing it out to one guy priorities all wrong there and tracks wonder why they cant draw anybody lol.

Congrats on your success Joe.
For that payout, the sanctioning body should of rolled up to your house, rolled a red carpet to your door and have the sweepstakes squad present it to you with camera crew in tow!
Look forward to seeing you around the tracks in 2012

Congrats, Joe. I still think you must be related to the Flintstone Flyer. How many other peeps on this board thought of that?

and may I add this is no fluke (the check). 2010 saw Joe become the first ever NASCAR Oklahoma sanctioned champion and also picked up a pretty good point fund check, as did others in the top ten (I believe).

He raced Outlaw Motor Speedway on Friday nights (NASCAR sanctioned) and Salina High Banks Speedway (NASCAR sanctioned) on Saturday nights.

Thanks for the kind words all. The reason why I posted it was to try and help the local scene to maybe get some of you guys to race over here on this side of the state.

Congrats on your acomplishments! That Salina track is great {Race and Watch}, glad to see it reopened and wish them a long productive future. It's worth the drive there and just a little over 2 hours from the turnpike gate at OKC. Lots of good memories for Tyler and me, and I remember some other Driver named Jorski that had a pretty good time as well. I think top 5 in some old beat up Ford!
