To bad another decent site is going to the dark side. What a great idea to lose our loyal fans. I thought we were only getting screwed by the promoters now they wanna us to pay $60 to watch highlights. Well another jackslash fan lost!!!!

People are entitled to some sort of compensation for all their hard work and time.
I know the hours I put in to get a picture gallery posted from any given weekend. Sure we love what we do but in the end its all time that could be spent earning a living or doing the multitude of chores that never seem to vanish.
I think the "new Jackslash.com" looks well presented and has a lot of very cool content.
If I buy it or not I don't think it gives me the right to bitch someone out because they need financial contributions to pay for web hosting, equipment, workers or for dinner or whatever expenses they have...
But your right, along with bitching on a message board, (which seems very popular at the moment) is to keep your own hard earned income in your pocket or spend it down the local casino... Its yours, do what makes you comfortable.

Sean has committed much of his time to give people what they like to see. I have always been a supporter of Sean & Jackslash.com. Even though I can not afford his site at the moment I will still wear my Jackslash.com apparel with pride & someday down the road I will support his new site as well. Sean thanks for the many years of dedication to the sport of sprint car racing & I hope that your new site gets many supporters.

I love your website even if I don't go there that often. How many of your Worldwide Jackslashers are going to join? With the fans that you have I wish advertisers could pay the bills, then people like me could get their quarterly fix. Another sad day in racing, car counts down, purses down, entry up and now paying for web-casts and websites. I QUIT... anyone for tennis?

You are absolutely right, and anyone that would say "promoters or anyone else that brings the entertainment you want to watch is screwing you" needs to examine their thought process. If you think all this entertainment should be free go have at it and bring it to us for free.

It is really sad when people expect everything to be free. It's nice to get free webcasts and sites like Jackslash, but the reality is someone is spending alot of time and effort to bring that to you. I guess you can stay home and watch Nascar and auto auctions on cable for free.........or- wait did you pay that cable or satellite bill? if you don't is it free??
Whats nice about Jackslash and the Webcasts that are popping up is that you can be selective in what you purchase for your hard earned money (if they are not free), and not have to put up with all the other junk you have to pay for like cable. Seriously- would you really pay for 90% of the channels on your TV right now if they were offered as choose what you want cafeteria plans, and not packages?

I find it truly amazing and appalling when people come on here and bitch and whine when someone is not giving their product or projects away for free. A few questions to those of you who do so. In your choice of employment or your business, do you work for free or give your product away for free? Do you bitch when you go to the grocery store or gas station and they do not supply you with free food or gasoline? When you go to the show, do you stomp your feet and scream when they charge you for a ticket? If people in those or any industries are not working for free or giving you free products, why should someone making a living in the racing industry be expected to do so and be publicly ridiculed when they do not?
If you do not want to pay a price for any service or product, that is fine and fully understandable. It is your money and your choice to make. However, to come onto a public message board (especially anonymously), whine about it and ridicule someone is ridiculous.

and not to change the subject of this thread, though I think Scott summed it up thoroughly and completely-
But if Twisterwest is who I think it is, and his message of "I quit" is for real, then that does not bode well for the show at Ventura Raceway. With it being reasonably apparent that Troy wont be there every week this season, Cory wont run every week, it seems it wont be long until the car count is in the teens..........

First of all great job on the new site Sean, your a huge asset to the sport of Sprint car racing.
The only frustration I have with the pay per view business model is that ultimately they seem to not work
as well long-term compared to sponsor driven free to view sites. Take YouTube for instance, had
they charged for their service they would never be as big as they are. You need to make a living,
I'm 100% in agreement of that, I just feel a business model that borrows from what has proven
successful online and in traditional media would be best suited towards growing viewership and new fans.
Curious new fans are less likely to pay to view as they would if it were free based on sponsor/ad revenue. I hope
for nothing but the best for you and your endeavour, it is my firm belief that when you are able
to fund it through ad revenue your gonna really take off. All the best Sean. Oh and when I am able
to scratch a few coins together I will be signing up.
Cheers!

I am a huge Jackslash fan and when i heard of new site last week i wanted to be first to sign up. The way i look at it i have lost National Speed Sport News ,which i suscribed to for for like 15 years, and i miss it a lot. We are down to 1 sprint car race a month or less at Perris . I would easily spend way over $60 to go to the races with my family , so between my NSSN paper and all the races that i didnt attend i will gladly pay for Seans site .Sean is a true superfan of sprintcar racing ! Keep up the great coverage Sean. Glen in Hemet
