Digitron is a popular company with the Karts, my question is, does anybody have testimony of thier use on a full size spritcar ? V-8 , 410-360-305 ci , Im shopping for a new tach and considering the item, Ive noticed some have software to be downloadable to a PC , im just looking for RPM recall , i notice they also have high, low, average,? on lap memory?, timing? any users out there of this product? thanks ..

A majority of karters are now on Mychron stuff. They are useable on big motors. Google them and talk to Mike down there. Will get you going in the correct direction and is real helpful.

Mychron is a superior product by far. You should also check into Mychron's new AIM camera. It is a full color video camera that shows your gauges in the bottom corner while you're watching it. Really neat stuff!

It has been done. A fella over at Eagle did it a couple years back. That was with the 3, the 4 hadn't come out yet or just came out but he had a 3. Not sure on the specifics of what he did to make it all work but he liked having the lap times. Regardless, I can almost promise you if you call Mike down there, someone has tried it on a 4 and he can get all the proper settings. Shortcut the learning curve. Not sure there is better customer service anywhere.

I ran a Michron 3 in my 360 at Eagle in 06 and it was great for recording up to 200 lap times and rpms. Then people bitched about it cause they didn't understand it so they made me remove it even though it wasn't against the rules.
All fun all the time

i used a Digitron on my sprint for about 5 years....if i was still racing i'd still be using it....it was the BIG one...it would read 5 different readings at once....RPM,left exaust temp, right exhaust temp, water temp, oil temp, and we had a button on the steering wheel, that when pushed, it would memorize what they ALL were at that time....like, just as you entered the corner and you pushed it, it would give you REAL RPM's...not wheel spin....then after the race(as long as it wasn't over 3-4 hours long.....or something rediculas like that.....lol)you could play back the whole race, and watch EVERYTHING....loved the thing to death....the only hang up was the newer HIGH POWERED mags started causing electrical interfearance(sp)....we ended up changing the EGT monitors over to a French Grimes monitor.....it was a lot more reliable, especially after we put it behind the drivers seat, away from the mag....i don't want to knock the digitrons, but i hear the Michrons are much better.....just hearsay....but it's comming from my son who does race go-karts pretty seriously.....hope this sheds a little light on the subject....BTW....the EGT monitor is more important than the tach...(.IMO,of course)....lifes short, play hard.
