I need someone with a memory. Many years ago, I spent a few summers hanging around racing in Topeka, mostly helping out Jake Lammers. I drove myself only part of one summer until the car blowed up at Shawnee Speedway and that was that.
I'm trying to remember which summer that was, and my clue is this: My first race was in early July at the Topeka Fairgrounds and it was the first night that stocks were added to the to the regular weekly super program. '68?

Joe, you are very close. I ran cars at the fairgrounds 62 through 69, weekly. Jerry Weld ran the track starting about that time & he ran stocks with supers. He was killed in a street accident in Oct 1970 & I ran the track 71, 72 ,73 & 74 until the fuel shortage affected the ticket sales. I ran both classes. Someone will know exactly and come on with an answer......Luther

It was probably '69 then. Thanks for the reply. That was a great place. I miss it a lot, both it and Topeka Raceway.
