It was a cold night at Victorville but it was awesome to see sprint car racing in California on a Sunday night. It would be really cool if Victorville would run sprints and midgets on Sunday nights in 2010. That would give guys a chance to run twice in a weekend. Run Perris and Ventura on Saturdays, and then run Victorville on Sunday nights (such as Kokomo Speedway in Indiana).

I want to thank Mike Gibson at Victorville for having Jackslash.com. It's a cool racetrack with a ton of potential. It would be great to see ASCS, CRA, or even VRA roll through there. The track is racy and it is without a doubt a diamond in the rough.

Can't wait to go back!

Thank you,

Sean Buckley, Jackslash.com

It doesnt matter whos kid he is but Cody drove one hell of a race and Taylor should have gave him room and Cody could have gone to the top. Congrats Cody!!!

I can't see from the video angle how Cody Williams did anything wrong (except maybe for staying on the trottle pedal a bit long while climbing the downtubes of Taylor's car)...at least nothing any of us wouldn't do going for the win.

Both drivers were trying to win a race. Cody had a lot of steam and a slightly higher line, which allowed him to carry a bit more momentum. Taylor was totally parking it in the corners, especially off of four, and almost collected Williams twice before the accident with what could have been considered 'brake checks'. Taylor was clearly pole driving and trying to keep in the moisture on the bottom, as well as keep Williams from going low to pass.

On the last lap, Williams found a hole and had the drive off four. Then, it became an interesting game of chicken...who would give in and who wouldn't? Technically, Taylor should have seen Williams (who was clearly right along side of him and thus 'had the position') and given him room and made his entry a bit wider than usual. However, he didn't budge and tried to enter early again...but Williams was there. Williams, on the other hand, should have expected the early entry and arguably could have thrown 'er in a bit lower, but that wasn't his normal line either. Neither driver would give in and the result is two cars coming together.

HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN THIS SPORT!

Had either lifted or budged, the contact wouldn't have happened, but someone's pride may have been damaged more than the race cars!
