Talked to Lupi this evening and they would be thrilled to have us down there August 29th for two sets of hot laps.

As always, Gentlemans Agreement on the track, ring it out, have fun, hit NOTHING.

Get the word out please.

I'll be gone this weekend, so my number is 580-465-8351

If I don't answer, I'll call back.

I have received a letter from "Anonymous Donor",

I am not allowed to open it myself, IT IS TO BE OPENED BY A VINTAGE RACE CAR PARTICIPANT ON THE NIGHT OF AUGUST 29.

I do not have any idea what the award is for or what it is, but I do know Anonymous Donor is a huge fan of the old cars from way back in the 60's. He donated a decent amount towards our show at Ada, and wishes for others to support this venture that promotes vintage race cars and the tracks that we participate at.

Please remember I do not even know who this guy is, turned out that guy at Ada was ONLY a messenger!

PS- If anyone of the drivers or owners are aware of who this anonymous donor is, please thank him even though he will probably wish to remain anonymous.

I have been working to make this old car somewhat presentable, and now we're in the process of trying to get it track ready enough not to kill me!

A few more structural pieces and numbers, and tuning and she could do a lap or two.

We need 8-10 cars(modified-supermodified lineage) from what Charles Lupi told me, and if we get that many it could fire up a few more guys in the area to build the ones they have hidden. I know of several off the top of my head, in fact I have one more I need to do myself. There are more out there. I found 3 more this past month, yes I did!

August 29th, come out and support us any way you can. This could help us establish a relationship with Lawton and be another friendly track just off I-44.

Also, a good showing here will lead to a sponsor of sorts in the future for any upcoming shows(I'm working on it). Help us out guys.

For those of you who do not know Charles Lupi, I've watched him for 20 years now and have recently checked into the grapevine as to his reputation, I have found it is solid.

It's a good track with history, good people, and they absolutely love these old cars. A good showing here will open up the door for the other vintage cars in the future.

Also , there will be 1 maybe two video guys there to film the cars, and they will probably have some DVDs from the other shows we have done.

What's my PERSONAL angle on all this? Someone told me I couldn't do it. You know how it goes from there.........................

Great time at the red clay oval in Lawton America. We had 9 cars show up , 4 100" supers, 2 '55 Chevies, a '48 Ford, '37 Chevy coupe, and a '33 chevy coupe.

Since the passing of Gilbert Hudson recently, there were many stories about him,and the old days. It was nice to see the crowd remember and the newer fans take such an interest.

It was an unofficial Gilbert Hudson Memorial. Godspeed Gilbert

Stirred up interest strongly for 3 others to get working on their own cars to bring out.

Lawton promoter Charles Lupi wants an annual event at this time of the year each year. He wants to expand the idea and bring in more cars.

GUYS- THAT'S THREE TRIES, THREE RETURN INVITATIONS!!!!!!

George Jackson brought out his '55. ONE YEAR AGO THIS WAS A RUSTED OUT 4 DOOR IN A FIELD READY FOR THE SCRAP PILE.

Had the Old '26 on display in front of the concession stand, it drew a curious crowd all night. Amazing how many people knew what a Bucron was.

The Lloyd Ruby tribute car, the P-2 was on hand. A sort of salute from Lloyd I'm sure for his friend Gilbert. Courtesy of Harold Lindsey

Harold brought in his '55 Chevy too. He also has a '57 he is getting ready and there is also talk of another '56 Chevy from El-Reno in the future. I like the way this group of cars is forming. I can see this type growing in the coming years rather easily.

Lloyd Cooper from Vernon, Texas brought out his healthy flathead powered Ford, a '48 Coupe. He is so period correct, he even has a surplus pilots suit for driving.
