Granted there were a lot of car that get wrecked to night at Knoxville. But they keep dragging the shows out longer and longer very week. The first 360 A main was over and going across the scale before they even call the 410 for there A main.

Knox use to put on a every good show that flowed wright a long but it not that way any more. Hope that they can do something to improve it. Like the sound system from the 1950 to. You go to other racing track that don't have the money like Knox and they have way better sound systems they KNOXVILLE.

I agree, I think of what I understood.

It was obsurd that tasker philups was the last car that weighed, take a 4 wheeler and shove him up there. the 410s not in staging was a joke after the first 360 race. Granted there were several wrecks and cautions, but knoxville did themselves no favors by running 4 features and a vintage car hot laps session.

Rain on a race day hardly ever means a short night at the track. Got to be lucky to even see a Twin feature night.

I agree that most nights we are done by 1030-11, with the exception of the last few weeks, which I don't have a problem with but I think the original post was right about that. (addition of the 305's also)
What I do not enjoy is how much messing around that seems to go on anymore. However, I understand it's a thin line between getting the race done early, and having a full night of entertainment, which is only complicated by the lack of cars. Tonight though, after the 20th time of hearing the superclean ad, you really wanted to see things speed up between the features.

After a cool cloudy and damp day i'm just happy we got some racing in. way to go for Knoxville doing all the work throughout the day getting the track ready. The vintage car guys drove a long ways so it was cool to see them hit the track at least once. It was a pretty busy night on the safety crew..just glad everyone is ok for the most part.

yeah no shit. Most the questioning I ever have of Knoxville is the fans and how much they just bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch.......and bitch some more.

Good folks all of em I am sure - but talk about spoiled. 90% of dirt tracks would love to have the kind of "problems" Knoxville has lol.

Seriously - how much of a cardinal sin could it be that the 410's were not in the staging area right as the checks flew for the feature before? Knoxville has more push truck than some tracks have race cars! By all rights appreciate the short 3 minute break - talk with the good folks nearby. I love my weekly racing at SFS so much that half the time even with an 11pm curfew I am hoping they take a break at 1030 just so the night can last a little longer.......

No such thing as too long a show at a track like Knoxville that runs all sprints. I could see the argument if you're viewing an ASCS regional race where there are 6 other weekly classes running and you have 3 hours in between sprint heats and features.....but come on ya'll!!!!! It's Knoxville!!!!

I thought it was great seeing the vintage cars last nights. 305's put on a great show wish they would add that class weekly. It would have gotten over at a decent time but had the misfortune of the wrecks. Has anyone heard how Dave Hall is?

<SARCASM> I have to agree with down & dirty. Cappy and his crew were really dragging it out last night. I wasn't at the drivers' meeting, but I'm pretty sure they explained to the drivers last night that with the Outlaws running so close they were concerned about beer sales and therefore wanted people to tear up their equipment. Since most of these teams have unlimited funds and racing is so cheap, the drivers were willing to oblige. And what is with taking so much time to help the drivers after wrecks? Just because Jon Corbin flipped so violently that his fuel cell took out a billboard and landed in the street doesn't mean anyone needs to take their time checking on him or anyone else involved. And cleaning up the spill? That's just ridiculous! When a car wrecks, they should just use a bulldozer to push the wreckage into the infield and check on the driver and clean it up there, all the while letting racing resume. Then you have that whole hall of fame induction! Who needs a hall of fame? Who really cares about people who raced a long time ago and made this sport what it is today? They don't race anymore! Do we really ever learn anything from honoring our past? Finally, I have to say the show selection irks me. I cringe every time I think of those lucky people sitting at a race with a single class of sprint cars mixed in with 6 support classes of stock cars, hobby stocks, wild things, etc. and just laughing their heads off thinking of us ignorant morons paying money to watch 3 classes of sprint cars with some vintage hot laps thrown in during the hall of fame ceremony. </SARCASM>

I will have to agree with you Bill W. This post was just right out ridiculous. There just happened to be a lot of mishaps last night and pretty sure it had nothing to do with "BEER SALES" I think Knoxville held their own even with the World of Outlaws in the area (22 car) With that fuel cell that flew over the fence and landed across the street, I'm pretty sure that the track wanted to make sure it did not ignite and cause more problems. I can remember leaving a track well after 2am because of lot of wrecks and they had junk cars plus sprints, but it's part of racing. Some nights you are going to have some really good racing and have no wrecks and get out on "TIME" or even early or your going to have a lot of wrecks like last night and it's going to run late. It's racing, It happens. I have been going to the races for 22 years and have been to many tracks, just like most of you and Knoxville has one of the best shows by far. If you don't like they way the track does things then stay home. I just really sick and tired of everyone bashing Knoxville, when all the Knoxville crew puts on a hell of a show. They try to put on a good show for everyone and all people can do is come on here and bitch about something that Knoxville is doing wrong. Get a grip.

I would do just about anything to have a show like Knoxville's around here. A weekly show with some of the best around. What more can you ask for? Some nights are longer than others, but big deal!

If Phillips had gone to the scale directly instead of idling around the track wouldn't have had that problem. Yes it was late but sometimes that's the way it is. As usual Bill is right.

Boy, some people just have to complain no matter what. Other than the last 2 weeks, it's been 10:30 or earlier. Just be thankful we have racing to watch!

The only thing I will complain about though is.... IF Justin Clark doesn't throw a yellow on the first start of the 360 B-Main, we MIGHT have had 2 less red flags 6 more cars not tore up. I'm telling ya, if the 360 B-Main gets through turns 1 & 2 with no accidents, let it go. It's the safest bet in the house, you throw a yellow on the first start of the 360 B, and there is a red the next start. It's happened 3 times this year now.

Kudos to the Dunkins and the push trucks for working to get the show in! The Push Truck crew at Knoxville is second to none, and if you go to any other sprint car race in the country, you will appreciate them.

dont get mad at a 16 year old kid that had his first win at knoxville ever for makin a show go till 12

what happened was that the 410s were lined up and were blockin the scales so they had to move 2 cars, so the 305 cars could get out.

i talk to a guy that came from california who had a vintage car and he came here just to run at knoxville. i am glad he had the chances to turn a couple laps.
