4 RACES = 4 DIFFERENT WINNERS

4 QUICK TIMES = 4 DIFFERENT DRIVERS

4 B MAINS = 3 DIFFERENT DRIVERS, who cares about b mains

4 MAINS = 4 DIFFERENT DRIVERS

3 OUT OF 4 RACES WERE WON BY LESS THAN A CAR LENGTH.

If you can show me some WoO races were there was this kind of numbers or even if there were two groves of racing at any of the WoO races then I might be interested. True sprint cars are run without a wing

Honestly, I can't get into the wingless sprints because they just look weird to me. They probably have some good racing, but I just dont like watching them. I like watching the winged sprints sliding through the corners at high speed. Wingless sprint racing that I've seen seem to stay single file most of the race. Plus I live in New York. I can't get into something that never takes place near me. Maybe if USAC had better tv coverage. Last year the only USAC races were on at like 5 AM on the Outdoor Channel. I tried to watch them but I couldn't stay awake. And most of them were silver crown or midget. And I don't like it when sprints run on asphalt. I feel they belong on dirt. The asphalt races just aren't as fun to watch. USAC seems to be more of a stepping stone to NASCAR or IRL for a lot of drivers. The outlaws don't send many to NASCAR or IRL, aside from Erin Crocker. That's why I like it, it's seperate with drivers that plan on staying. I know some USAC drivers stay there, but many of them have other plans

Wingless - I love the traditional cars, but so far the WoO is hanging in there with those stats this year (I'll let others post those for you).

Someone get Rogue-9 some decent footage to watch! I'm not sure what wingless dirt races you've been seeing, but that description of the racing you gave is kinda backwards.

In every winged sprint car, there is a wingless sprint car trying to get out. Takes a real man to handle it.

Rogue-9 is obviously still a pup and a rookie when it concerns sprint car racing. What you have been watching has been USAC crap and some on pavement. That don't count. It is called non-wing sprint car racing on dirt with drivers pitching it sideways at the flagstand, standing on the gas until they come out of turn two. They then do it again heading into turn three. They do this two, three and sometimes four wide. You just have to see enough of it to appreciate it. Obviously your a 90's kid who grew up with those wanged things only.

Yup, born in 1984. Plus I need to know who the drivers are to stay interested. I've been to Outlaw races, but I've only seen non-wing races on video, and I don't know who any of them are except for a few names like Jay Drake and Jerry Coons. Plus I can't tell the difference between the same colored cars when they have no wings on cause I can't make out the number. Maybe if I was at the track it'd be different.

I guess it's only natural to prefer one over the other but I'm always surprised to hear people on this board getting so fired up about winged vs. wingless. I've never heard a single driver say anything about how one type is great and the other sucks. There are many drivers who compete and do well in both types of sprint racing. Both have unique aspects that I enjoy but, when everything is said and done, it's all sprint racing and it's all good as far as I'm concerned. I often get the feeling that people seem to think they have to dislike one in order to support the other. I much prefer dirt to pavement but I don't feel the need to put down pavement racing. Get over it. Variety is the spice of life!

I agree with 50thSstater. I love both brands of sprinters. Locally I get 410 and 305 winged sprinters 20 minutes from the house 2 nights a week, but I usually make a 3 hour trek to Indiana a few times a year to GasCity for USAC or even to catch a regular non-wing weekly show.

The only thing I can say to Rogue-9 is that TV coverage, even if you can find it, does no justice for any "DIRT" racing, especially Non-wing. If you get a chance to travel to see some non-wing action live and in the raw, DO IT!!! I would suggest any Indiana track that runs 'em weekly. Of course I'd reccomend Cali too, but Indiana is a tad closer to NY than Cali.

Love them midgets too!!! Especially on the short tracks.

Sorry to inform you Rogue but Drake is now retired (far too soon IMO but he's been through some rough tumbles) but I wish him the best in his new job as Smoke's USAC team manager. Ever heard of guys like Dave Darland, Cory Kruseman and Tracy Hines? There's also a great number of young drivers running wingless in the USAC and Indiana dirt ranks like Levi Jones, Mat Neely and by far the most exciting to watch #92 Daron Clayton. Granted a lot of these wingless guys that race in Indy do not have budgets like the winged ranks but they put on some great racing at all of the tracks in that state. Take a trip to see Indiana Sprint Week in July you won't be sorry you did. Also check out indianaopenwheel.com

Blaney went from Ohio to WoO to a short stint as USAC Silver Crown rookie of the year (1984 if I recall) back to the WoO to where he is today.
