Man.....what a show T-Mac put on tonight! He was extremely fast. It reminded me of years back when he raced there locally. This guy can flat out drive a sprint car!!! Its just weird, sometimes it just seems like he changes into the greatest sprint car driver in the world uniform and hauls ass!!. I wish he would do it more with the Outlaws, but I understand everything has to be right on to compete with the big buck cup teams day in and day out...thats another story.

But wow surviving the grueling track conditions etc. etc. The first feature was wild when he made contact with Lynton and started bicycling, and bouncing, and everything but flipping. People actually got up and cheered when they

saw this- cuz they thought for sure he was going for a wild flip, and when he didn't the same people went

awww dang..etc. but thats racing, when the guy who has the most wins ever at the track has a chance of not finishing

people get excited and cheer. I'm sure a lot of fans would like to see him flip, but just not get hurt.

Anyway, he got second in that feature but that was a very narrow track and cars were all over the place. Very hard to pass

The last feature his car died while idling around to get lined up and had to change what appeared the MSD box. Before the start

and was given three laps. They fixed the problem with plenty of time to spare. Then he proceeded to just flat out fly around husets. it was awesome to see. I'm not sure how far he got up to ,but he went into corner one and came in a little to hot slid it way sideways and let it back up the banking. hey even Donny Schatz spins out once in a while... on the restart, going back to the tail... within two laps he was back up to 9th or 10th. but time was running out. Then there was a red for John Cressman, T-mac made some air pressure adjustments and came back up to finish 5th. wow I didn't mean to write so much about the race, but it was awesome to watch T-mac tonight, I just had to say something. Love him or hate him it was fun to watch him tonight.

half the fans who go to husets are numbnuts who are there just for the crashes...and if you have been in the stands long enough you will see that there are still people there cheering for terry to flip AND get hurt. As fans (with no involvement in the sport) they are taking this way to personally and should probably quit going to the races! Maybe attend douchebags annonyous too! Hats off to a great run terry! Its very fortunate to see a driver of your caliber weekly!

Back when I was a young buck is when I started liking T-Mac, he was driving the orange 55 car at husets and came from near the tail up to second and got a flat with like 8 to go and everyone cheered. he then went on to come from last to finish second in 8ish laps and everyone was cheering that he didn't win. This baffles me that people get so worked up about who is driving a car that they let it get in their way of enjoying a great race and seeing one of the greatest drivers in the country keep coming back to a track that seems to have been written off by most knoxville cars and other heavy hitters that could come but don't.

He reminds me of Evel Knievel in a sense. Half of them show up to see him win, the other half show up to see him fail. Either way, if TMAC is in the house you can pretty much bet that you are going to leave ENTERTAINED.

Very true. He feeds off that, as long as the fans are making noise...boo's... cheers etc.

When Tmac's at Husets the WWF fans come to see what controversy he will start next.

50% of the fans like him, the other 50% dislike him. Win, lose or say something on the microphone he gets the fans going. He a cash cow for the promoters.

It all started about 10 or 12 years ago when his slide job on Kenny Hanson (the local favorite) went bad and Kenny crashed.

heck... it was before that even.... back when he drove the # 27, # 5, #51, # 55, his own # 24 But to add to the story with Kenny Hansen and T-Mac, The week before that McCarl did a bad slide job on Kenny also. and dumped him. but okay, thats racing and moved on...but then the very next week McCarl did another bad slide job. Thats why the next week it happened it was as emotional as it was, with Kenny running down the front chute with his steering wheel in his hand..... and when they met in the middle Hansen threw his steering wheel at him. It got deflected and landed on the ground, there had to be almost all of the officials there between them. It was a site to see.

How about the night Mr. Wonderful (as you guys seem to think he is) got a taste of his own medicine from Leonard Lee and instead of confronting him on the track or even in the pits he waited until after the races to blind side Leonard as he was walking out of the office to pick up his check. I'm sorry Terry, but Leonard isn't a big guy (160 pounds soaking wet at the most). Why not be a man and take him on face to face instead of being a coward?

Damn 4tens..it took three whole days to come up with that witty remark. You're slipping. The nerve of Terry adhering to what the car owner wants to run. He's just impossible!! LOL

Dude...can't you let that go? Im pretty sure leonard has...are you the same person you were 10+ years ago? You are trying to bring up something that has been mentioned over and over again. Im sure terry has learned from his mistake.

Haha, you make me laugh. If you want me to go more recent on his numurous immature hot headed actions I can. I just don't want to overload this message board. I honestly don't have anything personal against Terry, and don't get me wrong, the guy can deffinately wheel a sprint car. Also, he is a hell of a promoter as well. It just amazes me how many people fall for his mask he puts on while in front of a crowd. He would make a hell of a politician some day.

Yep, one heck of a promotor, but I also agree that he would make a great politician. He's as smug an sob as there is. Thinks his crap don't stink, and that he's better than most anyone else. Did I mention that I don't care for him???

How about if you root for the Wild Child? I mean there's someone who doesn't have to do anything or say anything to draw attention to him. He just lets his right foot do his speaking for him as he has done his entire career.

I like Jac, always have. I would put him in my top 5 of drivers I like seeing pull in to victory lane at the end of the night. You are right, he has never had to do anything to draw attention to himself other than have a heavy right foot and a pair of bowling balls in his shorts. haha.

J's comment: "It just amazes me how many people fall for his mask he puts on while in front of a crowd."

That comment... MAN, I'm thinking of my own interactions with CART, IRL and Nascar drivers (NOT sprint car drivers). The "media face" they put on when the cameras are rolling and the jerks they are at an autograph signing or in casual settings... amazingly different.

I'll never forget meeting Terry Labonte as a guest of Kellogg's and saying "thank you for signing this" and "thanks again" while in the authorized, Kellogg's-initated autograph line for the 25 guests. He never lifted his head, never acknowledged that I was alive. Scribbled an indecipherable "TL". Thanks, Big Fella!

I say to enjoy what they do on the track... and who really cares about their personality/how real they are vs. their public persona. They play to the crowd. McCarl to me is like a wrestling character. I doubt he cares if you call him a heel when you're buying tickets to the race to boo him. He tries to get a reaction from people. Gets you involved. Gets you talking on message boards. THAT is good for the sport however you want to slice it.

I must agree with the posts now and in the past that Terry is good for the sport. I think he's great for the sport! Love him or hate him.....you're talking about him in this thread. I'd almost venture to say he's either the most talked about driver in the history of this forum, or pretty damn close. Probably the only other subject that comes to mind that is talked about more in this forum is Posse vs. the world (and that's a broad subject....Terry is a single driver). I respect him for his abilities behind the wheel....he isn't the greatest driver to walk the earth, but he's pretty darn good. I for one am happy he's back in the midwest running all the local tracks here and showcasing just how good the guys on the outlaw tour that he has trouble beating really are. Again, love him or hate him, you're all talking about HIM!
