Anybody ever messed with any of the open wheel racing sims such as WOO, Saturday Night Speedway etc. Wondering if anyone has ever come up with a setup that most closely resembles real world handling on non winged sprinters or midgets.

I like the Sprint Cars Road to Knoxville for pc. The one for ps2 kinda sucks. It has midgets, modifieds, and WOO sprints. The sprints are the most realistic I think.

I pretty much gave up on PC sims a few years ago and broke down and bought a PS2 because I got sick and tired with the hassle of my machine never seeming to have what it needed to load and run the games smoothly and without crashing. But lately I've been missing the games that you can get mods for online and I'm toying with the idea of going back to the PC again. It's such a pain in the butt though with the never ending cycle of new games coming out that need more than what you have. I've also found that some of my older games won't run on the newer machines. Oh well, at least it doesn't cost you anything when you crash and it don't HURT either!

rFactor is the best PC sim out right now. www.rfactor.net The game can be modded and there are alot of dirt track mods. Late models are the most popular and realistic. also there is a mod for Modifieds, Sprint cars (wing and non-wing). http://www.sbsracing.net/ has the best dirt mods. Heres a screenshot from the Sprint Car mod with a familiar car http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b219/Heroism93/05-Mar-08-rFactorCentral-2141_GRAB_.jpg

WELL THIS IS PROBABLY THE LEAST COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SAID, BUT I HAVE LOGGED COUNTLESS HOURS ON BOTH WOO AND SNS.. I EVEN BOUGHT THE STEERING WHEEL/PEDAL ASSY AND BUILT A POD THAT IS THE SAME DIMENSIONS AS MY SPRINT CAR, WITH A REAL THROTTLE AND BRAKE ASSY THAT HAVE REALLY HEAVY SPRINGS TO EXERCISE MY FEET DURING DOWN TIME LOL.

OUT OF THE TWO, SNS MIDGETS ARE ACTUALLY THE CLOSEST THING TO A NON WING SPRINT AS YOU CAN... QUICK SET UP -

STAGER- 9-11 BIG TRACKS 6-9 SMALL

TORSION BARS LF 1000 RF 1050 BOTH REARS 50

SHOCKS MEDIUM FRONTS SOFT REARS

GEARING ADJUST TO TRACK

WEIGHT RIGHT 20 REAR 45

THESE WILL WORK FOR THE WOO TOO BUT THE MIDGETS ARE MORE REALISTIC. ALWAYS DRIVE COCK PIT VIEW!!!

HOPE THIS HELPS! NOW, I'M OFF TO HIDE MY HEAD IN SHAME! (PROBABLY PLAYING MY GAME)

BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS!....OH YEAH..AND EMPTY POCKETS.
GOD I LOVE RACING!

Hey guys, Randy Watiman here. If you want to become good with the sprint car racing sim on the PC, (it is the best, we have done extensive research) just set it to easy and get used to it, then once you have mastered the easy move up to outlaw. Tons of fun once you get it. You can back em in if thats what flips your cookies or you can drive them just like the real car. Just no hospital or tire bills Smile. O'yea, dont forget that I have a complete fleet of wing, nonwing and pods for rent, hourly, daily or? Use them for parties, team building, seminars or trade shows. These are real race cars that have taken a ride or two and now are retired. If interested please call Randy @ 760-212-6969
