Wow...this is upsetting to say the least! One of the most exciting racers in the country without a ride, a week after taking home the $10,000 to win at Lawrenceburg. I truly hope you can put something together soon...Oval Nationals are only a few weeks out...
C'mon guys...this is a great opportunity here...this young man drives his heart out and has won some major races, which is even more impressive when you consider the magnitude of the team he was with versus the corporate teams he beat. Give this guy a shot...you will NOT be disappointed!
Good luck Robert...I am really looking forward to seeing you out West again...

Where's Dennis Roth when we need him to break out the second car! Two Roth Motorsports cars out there would be simply amazing.

Take "Rocky the squirel" out of that 10 car and put Ballou in it. Guarantee he would gas it up and give it a ride like TK did last year! ! !

Here's hoping former Californian Robert Ballou (Grass Valley) lands a ride for this year's Oval Nationals. He certainly deserves the opportunity. While wondering about young Ballou's dilemma, I decided to make a list of car owners that may have something available. The list of course is nothing more than a list. It certainly shouldn't be taken seriously, but just maybe one of the below car owners may be able to lend a helping hand. Ballou is certainly qualified. Feel free to add to or delete any of the following names:
Kruseman (the Kruser likes young drivers - Ballou fills the bill)
Jory #3 or #44 (if Rip's health prohibits)
Mitchell (I believe has two quality sprinters and a main event winner @ PAS this year - one for Matt)
Crossno 97x (Cardey and Clayton in #38 and #83)
Wilkerson (hasn't run in awhile)
Cheney (ditto for this team)
Woodward (Sammy drove the car last year)
Kaeding (Mark Mitchell drove the 29x last year)
Ford (well funded team)
Tarlton (another well funded team with Murphy in one car and a 410 winger available if Tommy Tarlton decides not to run topless)
C. Faas (if he still has a sprinter)
Martin (Manzanita track owner may have another sprinter to go with R.J. Johnson)
Gardners (only if Nadine is not racing the Oval Nationals)
Giardina (seemed to be competitive a few years ago)
Massey (Az car owner has top notch equipment)
Smiley (Don't know if he is competiting anymore - former SCRA Champ car owner)
Also over on the IOW board the Trucker 24Hr Team confirmed both Riverside's Darren Hagen and Jeff Bland Jr. for the USAC western swing.

You would think that car owners would be jumping at the opportunity to have a guy like Ballou in their sprint cars. Oh well, I guess it is just a sign of the declining economy.

Unfortunately, I will miss the Oval Nationals for the first time in 6 years. Good news is, it is because I'm working 60hrs. per week, leaving me with extra cash.
I'll give $500 to a car owner who puts Ballou in a car at both the Ovals and Western World.
