OK..so here is how in went down...river cities had a double feature friday night in the 410 class....mark won both of them...that same night there was a legends race and one of the car owners asked him to drive it for him...well he started dead last which was 12th and STILL won...now that is 3 in one night! now the 4th one came a husets saturday night for the season championship AND TMAC decided to show up who was a 6 time track champion there and he still beat him....that brings marks win total for the year up to 24 410 wins this year and 1 other win...25 total and he isnt done yet...there is still cheaters day at husets and a couple WoO shows in princeton and brainerd, MN...this guy has had one hell of a year and deserves more credit nationally than he gets...just cause he isnt from the posse or from california doesnt mean he cant wheel a racecar...i hope to see him do big things and maybe sometime in the near future land himself a nice WoO ride...he sure is more deserving than some of the other drivers on the tour....not gonna mention names but im sure you may be able to figure out a few...

Those three features were actually at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Mark does deserve a WoO ride but he's probably making decent money just running three nights (as long as his sponsors are picking up the tab). Mark owns a business in GF so I'm not sure if he would go on Tour or not even if he had an opportunity. I talked with his dad after the races on Friday night in GF. He told me their two big motors were "hurting" so they weren't sure on their plans for the rest of the season as far as WoO, although they are planning on Brainerd and Princeton.

I think you mean he graduated from FOAW to OAW status when he beat them in '06...

Congrats Dobs on your win at Husets and the point title. After surviving the opeing lap red where he made contact with Peters and sent the 57x into a series of flips down the front, he restarted 10th with McCarl just behind him, and picked off the cars, taking the lead from Longhair about lap 8 and lapped the field up to 6th position. McCarl was 5th and the next to go a lap down. Impressive run through the traffic. Congrats!!!

Mark has had an outstanding year. 24 feature wins! He is getting better at Knoxville too. This team deserves credit just for the miles that they travel every weekend. I became a fan of his this year, just because he was very friendly and talkative when I talked to him at Knoxville in the pits. He is not only a great racer, he has some personality to go with it. That is the combination the sponsors are looking for. Some of these racers can be successful without going on the road with the WoO and running coast to coast, and they are doing it. We may see more of these guys stay in their regions and hit the big shows that they want, and be home a lot more.

How some of the outlaws stay on tour is beyond me. I won't mention names either, most know who they are. Is he deserving? Maybe, but could he run well enough to keep himself on the tour? If your happy doing what you do, why do something that might change that. Not everyone wants to be on the road for 9 months out of the year.

don't tell that to certain party who haunts this forum.he seems to think you should hit the road regardless of the cost or the fact that you can sleep in your own bed while making a nice living.i agree that it hard to figure how some those guys manage to do it.they sure aren't getting wealthy.some of them are nothing more then weakly racers who managed to find a sugar daddy....

Don't forget the whippin' he was putting on the boys in Osky at the FRC until the two lapped cars wrecked right in front of him. And he beat Saldana in the King of the Hill race. The man can drive a racecar.

The man is pretty bad ass on the bullrings. I'd like to see him develop a knack for the low side at Knoxville to complete his wide arrange of tatlents. 24 410 wins on the year, wow. He better finish higher than any other "local" competitor when the 410 National Driver of the Year Awards come out. Congrats on a helluva year to Lunstra/Dobmeier and sorry I couldn't get there Saturday to brag about the beat down on the 24 to the rest of the internet world.

Mark is a great person with alot of talent but what gets me is the fact it takes alot of money to run to outlaw deal.. most of the fans dont realize what it takes to run full time and with less hired seats every year and with a new crop of drivers every year it gets harder to get hired. all i can say is the best of luck to Mark and i hope things work out the way he wants them too
