May 3rd, 2008 / Press release PA 600 Micros to hit 7 tracks in 8 nights! Almost another year has passed and it is now time for A. J. Bast of Tower City , PA to defend his 2007 PA 600 Speedweek crown and prepare for the 2nd annual 2008 PA 600 Speedweek . This years sponsors and tracks have stepped up to make this years event that runs from June 28th through July 5th even more exciting than last years inaugural event. Less than two months remain before the first show takes to the track. With everyone’s efforts, the week offers close to $80,000.00 in cash payouts and prizes. Yes, you read that right, close to $80,000.00! This years title sponsors, J & K Salvage and Eichelberger’s U-Pull-It along with Hoosier Tire, American Racer, Dry Dock Pub, Wayne S. Lesher IV Builders, and 600scene.com have all made significant contributions in cash prize money. In addition to the purse money offered for each race, a point fund will be paid as if it were a $1,000.00 to win race at the end of the week. Also a hard charger award for each race will be available. Contingency gift certificates will be awarded to all 26 cars that start each race. Those sponsors include, Hyper Racing, RTS Chassis, Bullrider Race Cars, PMP Chassis, Schoenly Enterprises, Panchos Race Products, Specialty Fasteners, Pace Chassis, Triple “X” Race Company, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Stallard Chassis, King Motorsports, Concept Chassis, Factor 1 Racing, Wing Dynamics, Wings Unlimited, DWT, Mcintyre Motorsports, Real Racing Wheels, Regina Chains, Raceseng Design, Saldana Race Products, Schroeder Torsion Bars, and Precision Racing. Starting on Saturday June, 28th Trailways Speedway will host the first race with a $3000.00 to win show, followed by Lincoln Speedway, $1500.00, on the 29th , Path Valley Speedway, $3000.00 on the 30th , Greenwood Valley, $1000.00 on July, 2nd, Susquehanna Speedway, $1000.00 on July 3rd, Linda’s Speedway, $1000.00 on July 4th, and a $10,000.00 to win show at Clyde Martin Speedway at the Lanco club track. Wayne S. Lesher IV Builders will have a special payout to a group of lucky racers who attempt to qualify at all 7 races during the week. www.PA600Speedweek.com will have a complete updated schedule of events and prizes available during the week. Last years races attracted an average of 64 cars per show, making for quite an exciting week of racing. Racers from not only Pennsylvania and surrounding states, but as far away as California, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Florida, and North Carolina as well could be found in the pit area each night. Traveling a route that provides moving in geographical order helps provide the teams with a lighter towing fuel bill for the week, not having to run back and forth across the state to compete. Winners of a few of the events become automatic qualifiers for some of the year ends richest traditional national events at some of the local tracks. A.J. Bast was a beneficiary of just that scenario, as he failed to qualify for the Linda’s National event due to motor issues but was still able to race to a respectable top ten finish with the provisional starting spot provided him by being the 2007 speed week champion. The weeks benefits keep on carrying over all through the year. Come check out the exciting 600 cc micro sprint at a track near you during the week. If you are a real open wheel racing fan, you will be pleasantly surprised! Dan Little, Trip Kone TDF Promotions
