I've been to dirt tracks in the following states:
California
Oregon
Arizona
Indiana
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Wisconsin
Kentucky
North Carolina
if I include asphalt tracks, I add in a few more states like CT, RI, NH, MI, CO, FL and bring the total tracks visited to 62

Some of you listed Louisiana....where are the dirt tracks there? What kind of cars?
|
I think mostly late models now, but winged dirt modifieds used to be popular in Lousiana and east Texas. They called them "Skinny Cars"

The reason I asked was that I go to Louisiana a lot... luv the food, music, & dancing. Last time down there, saw something surprising, totally outside the usual stereotype of a sprint car fan: At a zydeco dance at O'Darby's Pub, Carencro, Louisiana, a young black guy, wild dreadlocks, with a World of Outlaws t-shirt (good dancer too)... I asked him if he saw WoO in Texas, haven't seen any races scheduled in La. He said he saw them "here".... couldn't be Carencro!

South Dakota-7
North Dakota-1
Nebraska-2
Kansas-2
Missouri-3
Oklahoma-1(Chili Bowl)
Washington-1
California-3
Arizona-1
Texas-1(Devils Bowl RIP)
Wisconsin-6
Illinois-1
Indiana-3
Ohio-4
Pennsyvania-7
Delaware-1

I have a few more late model tracks but thos above are just sprint cars.

Looks like out of all the posts on this feed:
All have been to Iowa (Assuming the Nationals)
All but 1 has been to Ohio (Assuming Eldora)
Most all except for 2 or 3 have been to Pa. (Probably various tracks) which is impressive with Pa. being at the far Eastern corner of the U.S. - This is one I want to scratch off of my bucket list.

Shoot, I just looked at my list and I left off Ohio. Yep, Eldora. So we can put Ohio at 100%.
