My favorite line during last night was....and I quote Earl - we are going to say Macri spun to avoid the flipping car.  It sure didn't sound like that when they interviewed him in victory lane.

First I am pretty sure the announcers at no track make offical rulings. I just watched the replay. He said in the interveiw that he spun to avoid Brock who by the was lying with the rollcage facing traffic. What do you think you heard? The fuel thing was luck that two cars stopped on the track and he made a lap and a half before stopping when the red came. It is time for the Larson fans to stop crying and move on to tonight. He runs good at Hagerstown.

Larson didn't cry.  He was stating facts.  It is time to have the larger fuel tanks.  Ban the 28 gallon and make everyone run the 33 gallon tank!.   if you can't run a 30 lap race without a fuel stop there is something very wrong!

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Rico - 9 wins
Donny - 0 wins That is right the big fat zero!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

You've got issues.   What does your hatred of Port Royal and your Port derangement syndrome have to do with the conversation about Macri spinning to avoid Zearfoss and him having a great car as well?  No need to respond with your nonsense.

He owns a sanctioning body. Wouldn't that be the place to putup or shutup and change his own rules to start the movement.

After all the absurd favortism Lyle gets with his own series, the tables were turned last night and the fanboys are up in arms. How many times have we seen them allow a couple of cars run out of fuel but eventually throw a red once it looks like half the field will? Happens all the time. To cry about Lyle getting screwed is hilarious. Next we'll be complaining about Sweet.

Lyle? Is that Kyle's dad?

Your boy Larson said PR is one of his favorite tracks... but I guess you know more than him:FACT?

& Larson showed there can be PLENTY of passing at the Port... isn't that what makes it entertaining?

Not taking any position on the controversy...

I like Larson, was rooting for Macri tho... all I can say it was a hell of an entertaining race

Kyle came from where?... 10th, 12th? to almost win.I thought it was over after his first spin out. I think he would have caught Macri without the red (duh, they all need fuel)

They are called SPRINT CARS for a reason!  Fuel Stops for 30 lap races are bull, put on larger fuel tanks.  And whats the deal with "open reds?"  Add fuel and that is it.  No adjustments allowed.  Lets get back to what sprint cars are made to do, race!  You want pit stops for sprint cars, go to the Little 500 at Anderson IN.

Agree 100%! Open reds are just a mulligan that lets every team dial there car in and it kills all passing! They might as well checker it and save teams the fuel and everyone else the waste of time. I've been watching sprint cars for many decades and I don't ever remember an open red ever making the race better. Gas and go - fuel only! ...and yes run the bigger tanks! If some teams can run them, why can't all of them?

Jeremy Elliot 90 at 9 said they were told 55 combined laps at drivers meeting and fuel stop was at lap 48.

Good info.  Was this 55 combined laps the point at which they throw the red for fuel?  OR, was it when they calculated the total laps to the end would be over 55?  If the race went yellow at 48, and they were going to circle multiple times before going green, did that translate to being over the 55 before the race end?

I figured this was discussed with the drivers, because no one was totally shocked the red happened.  (They may have opinions on whether or not it's needed, but they weren't surprised it did.)  Perhaps they can just relay that info to the fans so they don't have to blow up every social media platform known to man.  Then we can worry about the racing vs. having a controversy over every single moment on the track.

I am sure that it is any time there is a yellow and they cant complete the race berfore going over 55. Teams should have been prepared for 55. One thing that may factored in to that night was the front guys ran as many laps as hard as I had seen in a long time. If the drivers agree to the larger tanks I guess that is up to them. As for fans who can't stand a fuel stop a few times a season, I think we should put them in a burning sprint car and when fire is almost out we will throw another five gallons of fuel on it. Some may change their opinion.

If I was burning in 5 gallons of fuel I'm not sure five more would make a difference. It's kind of a sick way of thinking of it.

I think it is sick of fans to think they should decide how much fuel a driver should want right behind them in a wreck just to save ten minutes of the fan's time.

If they said in the drivers meeting they were going to run 55 laps before they throw the red.  Then they throw it on lap 48 The drivers have To make sure they can make all 55 laps including cautions.  This is the crew/drivers and or stubborness of them not to put on a bigger fuel tank.  If you run out with a smaller tank that is on that team no one else.

That's why I asked:  was it after 55 laps they throw the red, or when they determine it will take more than 55 to complete?  I ask because I don't know.

Read DD's Facebook post about the bigger tanks. $3000 per, several per team, 1500 teams nationwide....

Why not just shorten the races and make the drivers "sprint" to the finish?
