Pulling for Balog, looking very good this week. Would be cool to see a "lower" tier team win tonight.

Probably Buddy or Gravel will win, but I would like to see Hot Sauce win a big race!

We know it wont be Rico or Larson. Balog and Buddy have looked good this week and Gravel is consistenly in the mix. Would like to see underdog win but my money would be on those three but would like to see Kerry Madsen upset them. Traffic and racing luck will help determine winner. Great when all the best are in the field for $250K to win.

Smaller dollar team like Balog Thorson Williamson or Madsen would be awesome for the sport but I'm gonna go with Sheldon or Courtney as them 2 have been lurking all week.

Why are they reworking before the feature. Good grief the track was just starting to come in during the lcs.

Pretty cool to see what Tod is doing at Husets and upping the purse even more in 2026 to $300k. Has any one person contributed more to racing than him the past 10, 15 years?

This year the HBN purse was $250k to the winner and $5k to start in the A.

Awesome to see all these six figure purses.

It's amazing and great for the sport. But I really wish he would get someone in there that had more expertise in running a racetrack. They are always a little bit off in their methods where as the other big tracks often achieve close to perfection.

The weather definitely played a huge factor and I'm sure they didn’t want it to rubber up like a few years ago - and it didn’t

Similarly if Knoxville, Eldora or any other dirt track had 104 degree heat index and wind gusts of up to 37mph and sunset at 9:15pm, they’d have huge problems going on

Avg high temp on June 22 in Sioux Falls is 81...and the conversation would be totally different with 4 days at 81

…..arguably the best race of the weekend was Skagit...their high temp was 72.

Maybe next year Huset's can have Chamber of Commerce weather for once and let's see how it goes then.

The weather looks a lot more workable this weekend - whether you're heading to CLS, Knoxville or Wheatland. Enjoy the great racing where ever you choose!

I'm starting to wonder if it's racing anymore if people can't bitch and complain. Sprint car fans have gotten so soft. Everything needs to be just perfect. Preping a track is not easy, I know their are some experts that could do it perfect everynight, but would rather cry then go do it.

we were without racing for 3 years here, would you rather have that? You can always watch the WNBA

It sure seems like that is the case a lot.

I would hope that some of the knowledge shared here on the forum would help some people understand the complexities and come to appreciate that there's a lot of things that have to come together for 'dirt' to produce optimal outcome on race night.

If the winner doesn't come from 12th or farther back, everyone is pissed.  God forbid a couple of guys unload fast, are hard to beat, and no one comes from deep to challenge them.

Another outlaw show with multiple reworks on a track that was fine. They need to understand this is one reason they have empty seats in the stands. It's a reason I rarely attend in person. Been around this game for a long time and rework was rare. Now it's every freaking place they go.

Sorry, haven't been on here for a bit.  I know this is a bit of an old thread.  But I know the narative these days for a lot of people is "You should just be happy there's racing there, it sat empty for three years".  You're not wrong, I don't think anybody is disapointed there's racing there.  I don't think anybody is disapointed with the effort that has been put in by EVERYBODY to get this track going again.  However the product on the racetrack isn't what a lot of us "locals" are used to.  Even ten years ago there would be guys inches off of the wall and other people trying to make the bottom work.  Since it's re-opening, I haven't seen anyone close to the wall, most guys are 10-15 feet away from  the wall from what I've seen.  It also seems strange to me that the leaders hit lapped traffic and can't even pass lapped cars but nobody is passing them or rapidly closing in on them.

Let me be clear, I think the track is in great hands.  I really don't think Todd or anyone else in charge is completely happy with the product on the track right now.  I also want to be clear, that I don't know what the issue is and I don't have the answer.  I'm not saying anyone should quit going or that I quit going until the track prep guy leaves.  And I certainly can't time anyone in hot laps and determine if it's a good race or not.  My point is the racing there is different than before.  There's been racers say they're not racing there because it's gotten too narrow.  Every other "local" I talked too has noticed something different.  However I am fully confident in everyone there that it will get fixed the best it can.  Maybe something has changed in the cars or tires that racing the way we used to see it just isn't possible?
