stuck inside with crappy weather so I thought I'd satisfy my curiousity on what brand of chassis the top outlaw and hi-limit teams are using.Didn't know I was delving into state secrets! Very hard to get any info, drivers websites usually dont say anything about chassis brand.Loved it when I could just go down the results page and it would be listed. What's the issue?Changes too often? Embarassment? No credit to the manufacturers?Sad

XXX popular but since Bob Trostle designed one of first down tube design torsion bar cars probably 40+ years ago still the basic design. Chuck Merril was a great friend to sprint car racing and Maxim chasiss will be the measuring stick for sprint car racing

I am glad you brought this subject up. I am like you, and always want to know what type of chassis and/or engines sprint car teams run. It is totally different in the Dirt Late Model world. The teams, drivers and fans take great pride in the "chassis wars". The cars usually have the chassis brands displayed on their cars, and are mentioned on their websites and by the drivers themselves in victory lane interviews. Totally opposite with sprint cars. Very rarely, if ever, do the drivers mention their chassis choice during an interview and only a small handful of teams have a chassis brand sticker on the tubing. I often wondered why? Chassis swapping is not thing in sprint car racing, as most teams/drivers remain loyal to their chassis brand for years. Comapred to DLM racing where teams constantly switch chassis looking for that hot set up.

I'd guess that the racers quit promoting chassis brands when manufacturers stopped giving out free or discounted chassis to the top teams. To be honest, most every sprint car chassis looks like it was copied from every other brand already out there.
