Maybe he goes to CJB 5. Chase Raudman said the new driver would be a surprise to most. I think Fred drove for the team years ago.

Fred didn't have a good run for CBJ and wasn't happy how he was treated ended up in the Sell 20s and had a good final year.

Maybe there will be no red #8 next year?

If Rahmer is out of the 8 I could see Borden taking over the Eichelberger 8. It's pretty much confirmed that Whittall will be the new driver of the Stehman 23 full time.

I'd refuse to drive that car too until they get a properly sized # on the top wing.

Can't Black Beard or YAK offer some pro bono work?

I love the attention to detail. I'd guess it's the same size as Schatz's 15, but it is placed weirdly on the wing.

Brenham Crouch will be the new driver of the 5 car. It was previously annouced that Tye Wolfgang would be going to CJB as crewchief as well, but he's staying with KKR now in a bigger role with the 49 car while the 49 crewchief moves over to the 9 car.

i was thinking yesterday when i was running past the grove that central pa needs a new hero.  a few years ago we had dewease, montieth, logan wagner, ryan smith, and greg hodnett who i think everyone would agree were great guys that were also competitive.  macri can be a brat but he at least backs it up.  dewease and wagner are still around but not running near the level they were just a couple years ago.

we're basically left with guys who are trying to prove themselves with rahmer and dietrich.  i've seen rahmer put the snow plow on enough times to know that's who he is.  he plays victim and then sends somebody upside down.  dietrich often does a disappearing act for weeks if not months at a time despite all his talk.  he did nothing after somehow he cleaned up at the weikert back in may.

tj stutts winning against the outlaws was a great night.  it would be great if guys like stutts and chad trout could be up front more often.

Very true.   Back in 2022 the racing in PA was incredible.       There were great battles almost every feature.     Dewease, Dietrich, Peck, Marks, Macri, and Logan Wagner were all evenly matched.     Most races ended with a close battle where you didn’t know who would win until the checkered flag waved.     Tight, clean racing, slide job ping pong, and last lap passes were the norm.   I think that level of competition made of them all better, quicker, more skillful drivers too.       By the time October got here, the visiting teams didn’t have much of a chance.    The next season, (POOF ! ) it was gone and the 2023 PA season seemed like a soap opera.

I had high hopes for the 8R.      I thought maybe we had a new Dream Team here in PA.      Fred Rahmer, Rich Eichelberger, Don Ott, and Freddie Rahmer,     Freddie had already beaten the Outlaws years ago and the other guys all have pretty impressive resumes.       Maybe it was a case of too many cooks in the kitchen.   I recall seeing Freddie bring the car back to the pits early on.      Fred, Rich, and Don were all lined up waiting to give feedback (tell him what he did wrong).    I felt bad for Freddie because it looked like he would be under a lot of pressure.

Maybe Chase Dietz will continue to do well.      And Troy Wagaman.    Troy has impressed me a lot.      He is a blue collar guy who respects other drivers and equipment.    Troy gets my vote for our new “hero”.  Justin Whittall is getting an opportunity too so maybe he can continue his upward trajectory.

Dietz and Wagaman are the two drivers that I think take the next step next year. Devon Borden had a tough year and seemed to take a big step back. One team to watch although a Saturday Lincoln only was Matt Campbell in the Beard X car. He was consistently fast the second half of the year and in the last race stayed right with Marks and Macri the second half of the fifty lapper.

If Brenham is the guy at CJB that would be the single dumbest move of the 2024 off-season. CJB would have been better off trying to get Sye Lynch has experience on the road travel and wants to be a full time traveler. He has shown speed at big events but just can't seem to put a full night together. What has Brenham shown?

Literally Sye would bring money with him granted it wouldn't be as much as Crouch. If money is the big reason CJB would be dumb to not make a push for Tanner Holmes. He would bring money and has some experience traveling.

Neither Lynch or Holmes ran every race High Limit. Crouch did, and experience counts a lot.

CJB spent every one of those in the same pits as Crouch, and raced along side him each night, so the know him well.

The CJB team are no fools. I think Crouch a good choice.

Not a huge fan of obvious ride buys being done at the high levels of the sport. The 7s is a rental to the highest bidder and now it seems like the Buch 13 and the CJB 5 are there for the highest bidder as well.

Rental rides have been a thing for some time. It's down to the grass roots level, KKM has been successful at it for many years, it also might help some teams survive. Money talks and that's the bottom line, I don't care for it but that is the way it is. Raw talent rarely gets a driver in top equipment these days.

There are exceptions.  Congratulations to 2024 Lincoln Speedway Champion  Troy Wagaman Jr.   I've followed his racing career for several years and I'm so happy Mike Heffner gave him a shot in his 27,  it's not a story we hear often anymore.

Crouch was in a topnotch car and did nothing. Who cares if he ran the whole series? They would be better off keeping Bayston. Peck, Lynch, Holmes would be much better choices if their goal is running upfront.
